What do you race'rs have in your trucks?

I'm about to order all my AutoMeter Phantom gauges for my New Dash.
& wonder if I'm forgeting something?

So far...

5"-Tach & I'm leaning towards a GPS for my Speedo. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/humm_smilie.gif( I've not decided yet? part of me thinks If I just put a mount in the middle of the dash it can be read by me & a co-dog & maybe I could remove it & place it in my Sammy when I take that out on the trail, Even though its probably too big for the tiny Suzuki Samurai dash.)

2 5/8"- Fuel level, Oil psi, volts , water temp

I currently have a 2 1/16 Trans temp gauge.
& thats an Odd ball size compared to the rest.

& I'm kinda weird about stuff like that, so I'm thinking I should get another 2 1/16 gauge to balance things out. :)

But what

What am I forgeting thats important?

Before anwsering that remember this is a Fuel injected engine.
If that makes any difference in your suggeston?

I agree with you about the odd ball size thing. Def nice when they all kind of match.

I used nordskog and have had no probs with my gauges. I'm not sure if autometers has the same function but nordskogs has a recall feature to see what your highest temps were which I find nice. I think they also look good and their customer service has always been great. http://www.nordskogperformance.com/

Also i'v hear most gps systems can be used as a speedometer so if your planning on using one you may not even need a speedo.

you might considered a fuel pressure gauge, we only use the oil ps, water temp, volt, volt warning light, oil psi warning light, and now, with the problems we have had, were thinking about a fuel pressure, there are two kinds, the mechanical or electrical, the electrical uses a sending unit, that one is better for us. ..

Yeah thats the plan.
The GPS will be my Speedo, Kinda big & akward I'm thinking but considering it performance I think it will be worth it & when off exploring the desert being able to do it without fear of getting lost for days...
& from what I understand the GPS has all sorts of other features as well.

That is pretty much what I have in mind but wanted your input.

Anyone have any other suggestons? http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif

i'll have to find a picture, but on my old race car (jeepspeed) we had to keep the dash in the car for the rules. i had left my speedometer cable attatched. i then took the speedo guage face to my sticker guy and had him layout a "fun meter" in place of the speedo MPH numbers. so if you can picture it, between 0 and 30 mph the needle was pointing at "boring", from 30 to 60 it would read "getting there", from 60 to 90 it read "get some", and last anything over 90MPH the guage would read "****ing crazy!!!" it was rad. and it was functional..........i actually hit "****ing crazy" at primm in '04 on the dry lake bed.
