What are the rules on the trans/ t-case requirements for class 3... We are in the beginning stages of building a class 3.. we have done a few jeepspeed jeeps for customers, but our first venture on doing our own... any pointers fellas?

Transmission and transfer case are "open" with no restrictions.

The stock NP 208/209 (I can never it get right)... seems to be weaker than the much heaver cast iron (205?) that Moss runs. We've cracked cases and had 1 dnf due to it. We've also had to hit the junkyard literally ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN and replace the transfer case in the parking lot of the hotel.

Having said that... we are still running it. 1 DNF in 7 years due to a transfer case isn't bad. Other's have agreed though, it's weaker, but MUCH lighter (chains vs gears).

Tranny? C6 if you can!!

What about for a race bronco that intends to have the 4x4 mostly just to satisfy the rules and wants keep the weight down and be able to run about 600hp through it with a C6 in front of it. I noticed a post by Chris Wilson talking about a Borg Warner 1356 I believe, sounded like the way to go in that situation. An Input from someone whos "been there?"

I've long wanted to contact the CORR Pro-4 guys... to see how they get away with it... all that horsepower and TRUE 4x4. That would be the hot ticket, whatever THEY are doing???
