in class 3 do you have to retain the complete floor or can it be cut for say a fuel cell? Sorry if this has been covered already...

Our floor ends right behind the seats. We run a firewall up to the bedsides from there. Fuel cell, batteries, shocks, cage and spares all stick up through where the floor would have been.

So, Piglet. I think you and I should be racing to see who finishes their Bronco first. I think we are both relatively close as far as build progress.
YOU GUYS SHOULD START TAKING BETS!!

Piglet, huh:D
What if I go for quality and you go for quickly and we see who wins in the dirt?
I feel a little bronco rivalry in the works. Hell between you, me and chupa we should have some pretty good racing. All these full size rigs better watch out too before us mid size guys show em whats up.

Class 3 is alive & well & is only slowing down due to the economy.

No 'stock' internal sheetmetal required. You must meet the general rules for metal floor, firewall and roof though for the passenger compartment. You can build a real hotrod for this class if you have the time and money.

I lost my rulebook....or allowed somebody to borrow, so this thread is a bit of help. I'm going for the hotrod with emphasis on the time, rather than money. Using current Class 8 technology for brainstorming, I've come up with a plan for my C3 build. Given internal sheetmetal being "open", it really frees up the creativity. Thanks for the info fellas.

OK Ken. That comment has "garage queen" written all over it. That build has damaged every new dream to come. Ha! No this isn't going to be a superbronco. It's going to be low $, with a bit of ingenuity, that's all.
EDIT: I'm not knockin' the GQ either. It's going to be finished soon!
