The following schedule is designed to encourage participation in the remaining 2008 Class 3 Races, without the hassles of "entries" and "memberships". I really want to distribute the money from the Class 3 Cup sponsors and shirt sales.

The formula is fairly simple.

100 dollars to anyone who FINISHES any of the three remaining Class 3 Cup races (listed below)... and 50 dollars for EVERY class 3 vehicle you END the race ahead of, regardless of where you are on the race course!

Example: If you take first with five Class 3 racers, and finish the race, you are going to receive 300 dollars without any other entry or membership. $100 for finishing and 200 because you finished ahead of 4 OTHER Class 3 racers (50 for each).

Even if you are 7th at the end of race, but you finish AHEAD of 8th place, and IF you finish the race... that is 150 bucks (100 for finishing the race, and 50 for beating 8th). I feel we need to reward those who do well and especially those that manage to finish the race.

I'm sure there will be many other questions... but here are some "rules".

1) STARTERS only. If 10 people enter, but only 5 LEAVE the line, you can't get paid for beating people who DNS.

2) PROMOTERS RESULTS will be used to determine finishing order. In the event you DO NOT finish, checkpoint times will be used to determine who went FURTHER on the course than the other competitors before the OFFICIAL end of race (x hours from the official minute you left the line). By the way, I'm not promoting breaking your equipment for 50 extra bucks... but let's face it, it's all about beating other competitors, whether you are 1st or 8th.

3) In the event two racers did NOT clear a certain checkpoint, the two racers will be considered TIED for that spot... unless GPS tracking or some other method can be used... or unless the two RACERS agree on who finished ahead of the other. If there is ANY disagreement between those racers, the two will again be considered TIED, and only rewarded for other vehicles they finish ahead of. ONLY the driver of record will be the official spokesperson for any given team.

4) LEGAL CLASS 3: SCORE rules in affect for 2008 are what determines a "LEGAL" Class 3 car. If there is a question about a LEGAL class 3 car, it should be addressed AHEAD of the race if at all possible. If there are issues, the BOARD OF DIRECTORS will be responsible for voting on this after the race. It will by YOUR responsibility to provide PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence, via e-mail, if you feel a vehicle is not legal. A majority of VOTING Board Members will decide (one week to vote). If there is a tie, I will settle it if necessary.

5) Non-legal cars. In the event ALL Class 3 Cup legal cars agree to allow a non-legal vehicle to compete with us for CUP money, the racer with the non-legal car should get a signature from each Class 3 RACER. For example, if a SWB F-150 that is 110 inches long wants to race with us at MDR... and ALL racers agree, it is his/her responsibility to get a quick signature indicating so. I say this, because I know of a couple of cars who are very close to being legal, but technically would not pass. I would encourage the class to remain true to it's roots.... 4x4 SWB.

6) NO CLASS 3 available? In the event NO class 3 should be offered (not expected to be a problem for 2008)... ONLY CLASS 3 legal cars will be elligible for this payout, except those allowed in (see above).

The remaining races are the:

SCORE Primm 300 - September 6 (Primm)
MDR 250 - September 27 (Lucerne Valley)
SCORE Baja 1000 - November 21, 22 (Ensenda loop)

As questions arise, I will either address them or amend this posting.

Note: In the unlikely event all the Class 3 Cup money is paid out before the end of the year, all attempts will be made to cover the additional payouts by finding additional sponsors or going back to our original sponsors. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, THE TOTALS WILL BE PRO-RATED FOR THE FINAL RACE. Nobody will be left out, but if necessary all amounts will be cut-down and pro-rated. Again, this is an unlikely event. I would like to personally thank all the sponsors and those who bought the T-shirts and stickers.

Given the recent high costs of certain races, and feedback I'm hearing, I feel we could have an EXCELLENT series next year... if people will remain involved and stay positive.

Class 3 ROCKS!!

Man, I wish our truck was ready. We were planning on being ready for primm this year but got hung up. We will be ready next year and race whatever we have at that point. I am really excited about this Class 3 cup, just wish we could be a part of it this year.

I love the structure of what you got going. It sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to keep things competitive.
I can't wait to get my junk together so i can actually participate!
