We will be issuing a press release next week to announce our formal plans of entering the 08' Baja 1000. The truck was dropped off a well known Pro-2 driver's shop yesterday. The prep will commence tonight. The only major change that will occur on the truck is a new trans to transfer case adapter that will space the transfer case back approx. six inches to help with front drive shaft u-joint angle issues.

Chris Reilly (Moss Bros) and myself are going to try and head to Ensenada on 11-16 and get some prerunning on the bikes over the 3 days before tech.
I am going to be hauling my bike from Iowa in the back of my truck and meet up with Chris in SD on the 15th.
Chris has a 91? DR350 and I have a 85 XR600R. This will be the 3rd year we have pre-run and the 1st time for the 1000 for me. I usually make the trip out for the 500, but the 1000 worked out this year. It is just an absolute blast and the Moss Bros Team are a bunch of great guys to "learn the ropes" with. :D
Not really sure on all the details this year, but our goal is to not get our coolers stolen out of the back of my truck on the first day.:mad:
We have been talking about camping out on the course:eek:, but we will have to wait to see where the course takes us to plan it out.
Another year older and another year wiser.

Sorry, didn't see that in all my excitment. Being from the midwest I was glad to see a neighboring state that had a race truck.
It will be good to see the Blazer at a race.

We don't know our prerun plans yet, but it is likely to include a bike element the week of the race.

Yes, I'd love another pit in the mix. I'm running the standard ford lug pattern with 5/8 studs. I'll give you one of my spares to take with you.

We may need to cover our own fuel refill needs. Are you guys prepared to fuel?

The pickup that you're hauling the bike to Baja, is it a 3/4 t diesel? If it is, if you want to throw a trailer on it with a petite Blazer, maybe I can pay your fuel bill?

Pete's been bringing a Durango sized pickup, but may have something else available.
Chris, how come you will be doing your own fuel? Aren't you going to use BFG? Maybe we will all have to figure out how to get Pemex delivered to BFG, have you priced race gas lately.

Ya Raffo, I'll have an open-rear Bronco that could take a couple of dump cans no problem (i'm not putting the top back on until after the 1000). I could send the empty cans home with Cam/Gilbert/anyone else who comes down... or I could make arrangements to possibly get my own dump cans and just schlep them the rest of the way down south. I will NOT be returning after the race (OK, maybe eventually)... but others like Cam and Gilbert should be.
Just know we are mostly likely going to be on the pacific side... like Erindira or San Vicente, or the road back over to the coast - if they run clockwise as it sounds.

well... since you asked... and this is in your thread. Can they take away my truck for this?
I'm going to hell anyway, so why not go first class?
