For those of you still racing this year and for future reference, just thought I would point out one of the options for race fuel supply and delivery in Mexico. As you all know, you can't legally bring your race fuel in over the border. That means you have to buy it from a vendor in Mexico. There has been a change this year where Amber Racing has cornered three of the major fuel suppliers that will be in Mexico, including VP, F&L and Sunoco. I wanted to point out that Auto Sports Baja is another supplier providing Sunoco fuel to Mexico.

Auto Sports Baja is run by Bill and Terri Rodriguez, and I have been working with them for many years, in fact since they were supplying Union 76 race gas. I can tell you I have never had a problem with fuel delivery out to the BFG pits when I have worked with them. There was one time that I did not, and I can tell you there is nothing worse than having to beg fuel at a remote pit when your order didn't make it to the delivery guys. ASB is importing Sunoco direct from GP here in the states. The biggest difference with ASB is that you pay only for the fuel you use at the pits, not the extra that you order just in case, or the fuel you don't use if you don't make it to a pit.

There is a pdf format order form I have attached below that includes the contact information for ASB. PM me if you like a Word version of the form, it was too big to attach.

great info... my fear is that you guys are getting jammed for the old price of gas though.

I expect they will be the last ones to lower the price. I hope I'm wrong!!

Nothing you can do about the old prices, but yea, we are certainly getting jammed. Like aviation fuel, they only run race gas through the refinery a few times a year, and it is tied to the price of crude at that time, so there is a lag in price changes. Even though it is not coming down like regular gas is, it didn't go up as fast either. Aviation gas was the same price as diesel for a while, but now diesel has started to fall and avgas has barely moved. You also run into an issue with when the supplier actually bought the gas he has on hand. If you are buying gas that was bought by the supplier 3 months ago versus gas purchased this week, the supplier is probably going to try and get the price that was being charged back then. By the tone of the responses on RDC by the Amber Racing guy, it smells a lot like that.
