Well,. it was a very short race for us and almost all the class 7s at this race,. we only made it to rm 32, we lost the engine,. the good news,. we will have a new one, haha,. we already put an eye to a good one,. ford 4.0 sohc engine,. the one we always have dream on to have in our chups... we really need that engine to be competetive with our fellow competitors in class 3 and class 7s in code,. this race was a great adventure for the chase crew,. haha, .i didnt had the chance to drive because my bro started the race,. i was going to jump in at race mile 90 and from there to san felipe to the finish line, that was the plan,. we got short for a few miles, haha,. another class 7s only made it to rm 7, so, we did better than him, another one broke at rm 40, and another had a huge rollover at rm 50, so, just the way we start it at la laguna salada,. a few hours later, everybody was there again having fun ,
the big good news about this is that, thk god that we didn't enter the baja 1000, :D:D

What sort of fuel or compression are you running to be melting plugs?
Might you have a Pic of said plug?
I've started to pay lots more attention to your team since "David" my GF's son & I are gonna race a Ranger soon . :D

the engine is stock, and we use 91 octane fuel to prevent detonation if temperatures increases for any reason,. could ran with 89 octane,. so, this was our first time for that to happen,. i really didn saw the spark plugs,. that was what my bro told me when i arrive to tow the chupas out,.
the chupas will rest until next year,. so we will know till then what really happen to the engine,. :(

To bad about losing the motor. Perhaps a plugged injector would cause a lean hot condition in one cylinder. I have heard of engines losing melting pistons due to that but never experienced it myself. I wouldnt bolt the old injector setup on a new motor without checking everything out.

i agree with you, that's the only excuse that i have found so far for that problem,. but maybe there's somthing more because the engine jammed at the end, i dont know if that's the right word to use,. jammed or locked or stuck, it wont turn a bit. . you tell me, will see what ends up to be the problem,. thks.
Hi guys, it melted the plugs on one side and in order, starting from the back.... first two could be "fixed" enough to continue, third one was at speed in hard pack, sow no luck there, plug 3 spited its interiors into the cylinder. Put plug back in and try to get closer to nearest pit crew access, thats when the engine locked out.
