I'll start at the beguinning. when i was a kid my parents had a 75 bronco and i always thought that it would be mine times got tough and the buckin bronco was sold. fast forward i was 29 and finaly had the means so i thought to build me a bronco. i found a complete bronco not running no interior with a new motor, not installed and several boxes of new parts for $2000.through thease posts i will show you places that i saved hundrads of dollars without cutting corners.

the first thing i did is cut off all of the suspension and mountig points. tip if it has undercoating on the frame the best wat i found to remove it is with a torch. PLEASE make shure there is no fuel lines close and remove them and the fuel tank if you get close to them...

then comes brakes, i used 1/2 ton chevy backing plates, calipers, and spindles that i picked up at the junkyard for $50 then bought new hub and rotor assembelys for $30 ea caliper recon $16 ea brake pads $12 +berings and seals add it up thats alot less than the $800+ that annyone else charges and it is the exact same stuff...

then comes the rear brakes i removed the drums and reinstalled the axles i purchased a set of rotors same as the front tried to install them but they would not fit so i took my axles to a friend and had the axle flange tirned down a 1/4 inch so the rotors would fit over the axles. i then purched a set of weld on caliper mounts from blue torch fab works for $38 calipers recon fron 1/2 ton chev $16 rotors $30 and pads $12 again alot cheaper than the aftermarket conversion kits...ps. if you wish to retain a cable style parking brake the same calipers were made for cadailacs with parking brake arms on them.

Gotta love lots of pics. Have you been able to wheel the 4 link?
How do you like the flex and how is the body roll?

the flex is awesome it gets some body roll on the street but is not noticable on the trail. definatly could use some quick disconect swaybars if it was used as a daily driver. i had a 6 inch lifte 2 door explorer with 35" super swamper radial ssr's and i removed the front and rear sway bars it was a wobele sob at 60 but i drove it every day and got use to it, so i gues im trying to say anything can be driven it just depends how you like your off road truck to feel. personaly i like the body to roll a little...

I have a lot of body roll in my 77 too and it's grown on me except when sidehilling around obstacles and having my quarters kiss stuff that others clear. I have soft leaves and moved my shocks inboard for better flex and the trade off is worth it.
Duff designs good gear, especially considering they have to be able to sell it at a reasonable price.
Have fun on the Blazer build and meet you at a race one day soon.

Ive been supeer buisy. Stuff has kinda blown up for me. I was working as a fabricator for a baja enthusiest and we kinda went our seperate ways. Due to popular demand for my custom work I have started my own company. www.LoCoFoMoCoRacing.com I have some products I have released, and alot more im working on. I do a majority of one off custom parts, I have a cnc plasma table and alot of outher specialty tools. I also design custom rollcages, tube frames, and suspension systems. I will try to post up some pics of my new projects soon.
