Hi all,

While the Class 3 Cup has generated a lot of interest from both racers and "builds" alike, the reality of the situation is that most of the racers are barely making ends meet, and sponsors aren't exactly flocking to the racing table to give out money.

Combine this with the fact that what I thought was to be a "collective effort" to bring sponsors and racers together has mostly become a one-man show. I have asked for feedback and direction (and help) from the Board of Directors and again, people are more focused on putting food on the table and therefore unable to make commitments about "when and where" they plan to race. For most of us, it's more like IF we can race.

SO... while the races we selected are still good ones, and while I HOPE that the Class 3 racers will continue to try to show for these races and make something of our class; I cannot spend my time being the only person pursuing money for the Class 3 Cup. Having said that, I have no purse to offer and no sponsors beating down my door.

The plan as of right now is to pay out the Baja 1000 winners, get Moss a trophy, and take a break from the Cup to see how things pan out. Cam (Blanco) has shown a significant interest in taking the reigns to the Cup and running with it. Perhaps it just needs fresh blood, who knows.

I still think we have a great class. One that is somewhat affordable, fair, and super fun to be involved in. Beyond that, I don't know the future of the Class 3 Cup. Ask me again when the economy is not in the toilet.

We all need to just hang in there right now.

Ken, I want to say thank-you on behalf of all of us that race in Class 3. It is a thankless task to collect consensus to make things happen. We are one step further ahead as a result of your efforts.

Thanks Chris. I hope we can either collectively continue this pursuit or find someone with the enthusiasm and "salesmanship" to continue to push it.

Please don't let this preclude the Class 3 boys at the Mint 400 from putting a little money aside for a side pot! :o) Call it whatever you want (cup or non-cup... but have a great and competitive race and I hope the "Cup" efforts helped bring a couple extra racers together. I can't afford to race two in a row, and my team threatened to fire me if we didn't go back to San Felipe.

tell them they can drink beer in Nevada too. come on an join join us. It's a much cheaper entry fee. Then again, better to have a full field for score race. we just lost class 4 permanently.

We all know what's up.....those Mexican mud baths are hard to beat.
Come down and just hang at the Mint, someone needs to hold the side bets anyway!!!

I'd be willing to hold an unofficially ClasseCup purse for all that want to play a side Bet.

How about $100.00 each & the purse will be paid at the awards on sunday?
If you show the interest I'll even go get a trophy.

I do want to take this over but I'm scared of the challenge, being I've never done this before.

If I do bring this back I already plan a simpler rules change, but for now if you enter ther side bet, we can keep it going till I get it going again.
