It was a day and a half before the race and I had to get two dozen items prior to even being qualified to race. items like; fire extinguishers, amber lights, fire suite, helmets, horn, air pump, radio comunication, new seatbelt harnesses because the others were too old, yada yada yada...

I broke my truck by hitting a big bolder which I didn't see because I was right behind two vehicles creating a lot of dust. In result I was the third victim of that boulder because there were two other vehicals broken. One had a broken Tie rod and the other blown tire. I has several issues: Bent tow bar, broken steering box, and a leaky radiator. I'm not sure how but when I poped the hood I saw that my radiatior wasn't even attached. It was literally flopping around.

By the time I made it back I saw the Moss racing team come in on there second lap pit. Flyingbronco was humbley telling his vesion of the story. The real pit story is Ken and Flyingbronco came flying into the pits where 10 salavating banchees were there eagerly awaiting their arival. once the bronco came in they made suite music with there productive team work efforts consisting of switching out the the Tow bar with one guy pulling the pin while the other two guy's with the proper wrenches yanking off the nuts and then swaping in the new tow bar and back to rebolting and tightening the nut down with someone else sticking there foot down on the rech for that extra sinch down, sliping in the new cotters while simotaniously dropping fuel and swithching drivers. It just almost brought a tear to my eye.

I learned a lot and if I can scape up the doe I will try for the next one. I can't remember everyones name but you all were great. once I figure out how to post a picture I will upload a few.

It was nice to meet you Tim. I was so shocked when I saw Parish's truck in Vegas. Its sad to me that he had to sell his baby but I know she's in good hands with you. Get her repaired, get some window nets (still can't figure out how you got through tech without them?) and try it again. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I got away without the nets. I will be sure that they are on the next go around.;)

As far as the truck. I already ordered a Ron Davis Radiator and I am in the process of getting a chromolly Tie Rod setup. Hopefull I can get an overbuilt steering box somewhere and then she'll be ready to go. :D

I plan on building a saddle for the radiator so I don't have to depend on the brackets along with some protective screen so rocks cand get to it.

Does anyone know of a good place to buy a heavy duty steering box?

Try Howe Performance. http://www.howeperformance.com/index.htmI've had one of their boxes on my Bronco for years. Good parts.

Also try my buddy John at Autofab for your steering setup. He built me my swing set steering set up. It works great at canceling any bump steer. http://www.autofab.com/extra_wide_mdl_44.htm

Very nice writeup on your front end and no mistaking the author's "this is how it is" style. HaHa!
