I understand there has been some concern about my health. While I appreciate the concern, all is fine. I've had laptop issues, a surgery to deal with, a "move" from one house to another, a major project at my vacation get-away, and frankly been too damn busy to log on since before I even left for the SF250. I "appeared" at the Mint 400, in true "Casper" style, but was gone as quickly as I appeared. I didn't even see the results.

No, I'm not locked up in a mexican prison.

I came home safe and sound from the SF250. Perhaps slightly changed, but safe and sound.

I will be online more in the coming days, weeks, and months, as things settle down. You can call off the man-hunt :p

OK dude, I'm sorry. :o

Assuming your reffering to me.
I've been a bit concerned with all the rumors about what happened down there & the fact that all my attempts to reach you were not getting anywhere,

I'm so happy to hear all is well with you, but it seemed unlike you to not contact me or even post anthing.

Looking forward to your stories & to our next race. :D

Mexico always changes me... but this was different:
Running over someone has a way of making you realize that although this is "fun and games"... failing to get stopped and possibly killing someone goes far beyond the old saying "5 points". Accidents happen and I don't feel this was my fault, by any stretch, but seeing someone go under your car and hearing them hit the skid plate gives ya plenty to think about. I'm just happy that I had one foot on the brake and managed to get stopped (sort of).

For those that didn't catch the weatherman feed, we center-punched a spectator at RM 3... the entrance to the dump. Some kids didn't like my line and chose to make a run for it. All made it except one. He panicked, and froze like a deer in the headlights. They got him out and he was visibly shaken, but ok, I think. We called SCORE to send the medics and much later in the race they reported that he must have been ok, some buddies walked him back to town.

Anyway, that combined with my surgery (ACL recon) have been a big reason why I haven't been on-line. What do you say, after something like that? It was scary. How many times have I NOT brake-checked for spectators? I'm glad I did for this kid.

Anyway, all is well that ends well. I hope the guy is ok and next time either stands further back or just holds still!!

As for the AZ race... I am on crutches and a knee brace. Can't make it, but hopefully one of the AZ races this year??

That's a rotten experience to have to deal with. You say it was a kid? How old? You were able to continue on and make pretty good time in spite of the delay. How about some info on the rest of the race? Hope the recovery goes well.

I was at home listening to Weatherman and I was really feeling for you when your number came ove the air along with spectator hit!! Even after hearing that the kid wasn't hurt bad and that you were back racing, I knew that in a way your race was kind of over. Can't even imagine watching someone go under my hood and then trying to refocus on the race, but glad you were able to continue.
Hope your off the crutches soon and back at it and do you have a beer holder mounted on the crutches yet?
