I added the Pic's Post in hopes that you guys would share with everyone what your tow rig looks like &

:why you like it?
:why you dont like it?
:& if you could run something else what would it be & why?
I'll start with my tow rig.

Why do I use it? : I got a great deal on it & was able to make payments even. :)
Why do I like it? : because it runs perfect & is in great shape!
Why dont I like it? : Its too long & I'd prefer to go Diesel so I can get away from the smog checks.
I plan to hot rod my diesel when I get it. :D
Not to mention that mine is lowered on airbags.
That dont really lend itself well to off road.
You guys dont have to list the questons as I just did, but you get the idea.

I have 2 18 foor car trailers but due to my Vintage 1969 truck and the James Garner 442 along with my Race Blazer and pre runner and the play jeep i want to do it in 1 trip so here is what i will be towing with And the 48 foot trailer goes to paint next month to be painted blue to match the Volvo Semi truck, Then the trailer will get the red white blue with stars and stripes with GENERAL TIRES down the side, A good diesel truck is 40 to 50 K,This Volvo was $16000.00 and the trailer was $4500.00 and with the 2 auto lifts inside the trailer was $12000.00 Thats arounfd $38000.00 total, And now i can haul 5 inside, If you are going to do it do it right:D

"How does 4 tires get better traction than 6?
I figure the more tire you have grabbing the surface the better traction?"
Drug this question over from the smog post to answer it. It comes down to weight per square inch of tire contacting the road surface. Duals spread the weight out over double the surface area and results in less traction than singles when the trucks weigh about the same. Have heard arguments both ways, but in sand especially, duallies tend to just dig holes and sink unlike singles that compact the sand and pull.
Perhaps others can answer it better than I, but 35 years of watching even 4 wheel duallies sink in sand has answered any of my questions.
Now, as a teamster, if you can make some money with the extra payload, then go dually by all means.
Will post up my tow rigs when i have some more time.

Hey Ron, what do you do with that Jeep?
Dont say off road.
I mean what sorta off roading do you mostly do with it?
what did you build it to do?
I'd like to see more of it.
& Broncodawg,
1st off I'm not into off roading a dually anyways ( not to mention I never go to the dunes (glamis, pismo, dumont dunes) I'm not a sand sorta guy.
& I will have all terrains if not muds.
But I just wanna eel more confident getting the trailer further out than I can now & also get further out while camping. :)

We built the Jeep for my Brother Rick, He wanted to build a a jeep and we could not find a good project jeep to build so we designed a box tube chassis and built a 3 link and 4 link suspension with coil springs, We built a 9" rear and a 9" front axle Then we bought a jeep fiberglass body mold and built a fiberglass body We made it 6" longer and 4" wider the tranny in a C6 and we first did a 302, Then i gave him a polished 6-71 blower for Christmass that i built for him then we built a 347" stroker motor for it and installed a EFI fuel injection system on top, He likes to rock crawl and beat it hard, As you can see we build every thing we want, We cannot afford to buy the toys we want

unless you are racing (which blanco is not with his dually) flotation not traction is the issue with sand. thus a stock dually with twice the contact patch would / will float better than a single with comparable size tires. for my my two cents worth my dually works better in sand than my nondually did!

The Dually is a great tow rig, Its great for towing a chase trailer for a long race but the only draw back is if the race truck breaks down a long way down track the width of a dually can limit where you can go, The white blanco dually is great looking tow rig and 95% of the time work great, the other 5% you would have to work it out, If i had it i would use it

Here's mine:
Must haves for me.
A. At least a 3/4 ton You need the brakes and heavier springs
B. Deisel engine, I just prefer the way they work with a load
C. 4x4 I don't want top get stuck just because I pulled off the highway in a soft spot.

Glad to see the dually fans chime in because my opinion is only based on watching and not driving them.
I realize Cam won't be wheeling it much, I don't wheel my '97 F250 PSD (no url pic) much either as it's my tow rig, yet nice to know it could go down course more easily if needed being single rear wheel.
As Baja 1000 added, race retrieval would be tight at times with a dually.
To each their own, and I would sure rather have a dually to haul a big 5er.

Thats a nice price for that body style, Butu I'd prefer a extra cab, if I can find one.

Crew cabs are sweet for hauling chase rats around and only a foot or so longer than an extra cab, but to each his own.
