Good idea staying away from the 16.5"s. If you find 16"s off the internet, be sure they are the right lug pattern as Ford got creative in recent years. Perhaps someone out there knows the years that won't work for you?

I also need some 8 lug 16"s for my '83 E 350 someday project.
If you find more than one set, let me know. Thanks

Starting in the super duty ('99 to present) era the wheels use a 8 on 170mm lug pattern instead of the traditional 8 on 6.5". The later wheels are "hub centric" instead of the traditional "Lug centric". You can use wheels for a pre '99 Ford or wheels from any 3/4 or 1T Chev, GMC or Dodge. Quite often you can find a set of the late model Chevy/GMC aluminum wheels for sale cheap on RDC (there are a couple on there right now). I would use the 16" wheels and be sure only to buy the load range "E" tires. The "D" tires do not hold up well under the weight of the diesel up front. BFG makes both load ranges in the sizes you might consider.

Definitely 99 and up 8 lug Ford will not fit yours.
The best wheels by far are the stock alloys with some 285 / 16 BFG.

What don't you like about the Alcoas that came on your truck? I agree with Moss, I would use those wheels and a set of BFG All Terrains
LT285/75R16/E, MSPN 87606, 11.3 width x 33" tall, 3750# load per tire @80 psi , They make the KM2's in the same size the MSPN is 06464
I have a set of KM2's in LT315/75R 16 on the Bronco, traction is good but they are wearing fast.

Actually I love them...... But the door sticker says they're only 7" wide & thats too narrow for the tire I wanna run. :o

The BFG 285's will work fine. My Brother had them on his Ford truck with the same Alcoa wheels.

Yeah but, I wanna run the biggest tire I can without lifting it & Thats a 315. :)

All things considered you will be happier with the 285's, remember you bought the thing as a tow rig. The 35" tires will rub the fender and the springs if you don't lift it and you will lose a lot of pull when towing with the taller tires.

Actually the 315's are suppose to be the biggest tires I can run without these issue's.

It might rub on the spring at full lock depending on my wheels back spacing..
but it should clear the fenders with no issues..

The front bumper will have to be adjusted forward though..

Had a feeling it was 99 and up on the lug pattern, but wasn't sure.
I have to agree with Don and Gunit, 315s will raise your gearing for towing and work your tranny harder. If you do go with larger rims, consider your stock rims sold as I need a set. Thanks.
