There's a Camburg 4" over TTB set-up over on Race-dezert (http://www.race-dezert.com/cgi-bin/trader/atl.cgi?ct=2). It's very nice and I would love to buy it myself, but it's way out of my wife's price range. :D The axles appear to be cut and welded???

Yikes, I'm not sure that's a great price since you don't get the springs or spring buckets. Just my two cents.

Tell the wife it's an investment that will keep you safe and sunny side up. :D

I just put my new Baja Projects 37s on this weekend and my wife walked right past my Bronco. I said, "Hey, don't you notice something" And she said, "Yeah that's a nice shirt honey" Gotta love her. Hmmm I wonder if she'll notice my new front and rear Fantelli suspension.......

She's cool like that. She knows it makes me happy so it's all good. I started her off easy with my Bronco diecast collection that is probably over a hundred bronco diecast, models, pins, etc. Baby steps ;)

It's funny, when I first glanced at the for sale post, all I saw was $950 and all of the parts. I was ready to jump up and scream SCORE! just before I saw the real price. Then I wondered how the guy could justify that selling price, regardless of what he paid for it.

Well according to Camburg's website

$1800 for uniball extended Beams
$600 for truss
$1000 for Heim radius arms
+$400 for cut and extended axles

Total: $3800

Don't have to wait 6-7 months to get them done priceless!

FYI: someone at the last MDR race (just met him not sure how reliable this info is) but mentioned that Camburg no longer does these beams.

add another $4000+ to get a rear end that will match the width of the front end so your truck doesn't look like shhhit going down the road!!

Class 3 is plus 2" at the wheel flange, correct? Or has something changed in the new rule book ('06-'10)...

They measure it at the center of the tire.
So your wheels back space does play into the equation.

You can go 2" per side 4" overall.

In that case I can go 4"+ per side on the TTB and use these rims (you can get them in a 7" back-spacing).:D :D :D

Just looking for an excuse to buy them because they're the best looking wheels made now that the Ultras aren't being made anymore.

A 7" back space would probably have your tires rubbing the Frame going straight.

What's the widest a bronco can be and still pass tech as a class3?

4" wider overall. Based on initial measurement from the center of the tire on a stock bronco with stock tires. That's the way I understand it anyway.

Yeah your are correct, Kinda.
its based on the measurment the same way the factory did.
Factory Bronco/Blazer whatever.
This is where wheel spacing becomes the Issue I mentioned.

So what your vehicle is & what ever it had backspcing wise on its wheels caused your factory spec.

What it comes down to, is do what ever you want as long as your within 4 inches of factory specs.

Weren't the original Ford Bronco wheels 15" x 7.5"? And if you are now running 17x9 inch wheels does that mean (excluding the back spacing for the sake of argument) you can now only widen your beams half an inch on each side for a total of 4" for both sides? Sorry if I am adding to the confusion but I'd like more clarification.

http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/humm_smilie.gif................. Interesting point you bring up.

& yes at least my Factory wheels are 15X7.5.

What's the back spacing of the stock wheels. I measured my Bronco and it's 66" from flange to flange. So if the factory wheel is 3.5" backspacing and 7.5 wide, for example, than the baseline for class3 Bronco would be 66.5" and the max would be 70.5".

Also, my previous post would still hold true then. If you run +4" per side beams and a 7" backspaced wheel (8.5" wide wheel) you'de be Class3 legal... As long as the stock wheel doesn't have more than 4.5" of backspacing (pretty sure it won't).:D

My '90 Bronco stock backspacing should be 3.75.

What I was trying to say is that 7 inches is a long way in towards your Springs & frame.

Maybe we should start a new thread with a better title so people will find it easier when trying to find this subject matter to help them out. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif

Ya, I know. Those wheels are super expensive anyways and the tire would hit the radius arm every time you turned the wheels. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all...

So, how is that differant? How does Ford measure from the factory?
