I've got all 3 laps of in-car footage from the race on DVD, if anyone is interested for a copy.
We had the race won, but... but... we didn't have any people at the last 2 remote pits because the didn't make it out there before the cutoff time to get there (which was never mentioned @ the Drivers meeting...). So, we didn't have any good split times on 2nd place.
Midway through the 2 lap, I thought I had a huge lead over 2nd and I saw a friends truck broke on the side of the course. Came over a rise and he and the co-rider were walking trying to get back. I knew they had about 10 miles to walk, so since I have a back seat I offered them a ride. Problem was, they left their helmets back in the truck. So had to go slow and that allowed 2nd place to catch up. Oh well. He beat us by 3 mins or so. Pretty cool, actually, as the guy who won had his son co-riding for the first time, and he rode the whole race. So, I felt better about losing knowing that it meant alot to them.
Fun race. No issues. Broke both side mirrors is all... Love those trees.
