So I've been toying with the idea of running sportsman (1450) in SNORE... either with the prerunner OR the bronco.

This site caught my eye, because of the 1450 rules and "stock" rules.

It's a ways away (outside Phoenix), but my prerunner is a good match for the 1450 rules (it would keep me from having to race the guys who show up with TT's and want to run sportsman and kick everyone's butt.

Might be a fun change, with more action (and affordable short-course racing, unlike certain other 5-mile loops),

Races are planned for Speedworld and maybe Firebird Raceway near Phoenix and Pima Motorsports Park near Tucson.

This looks like fun and I have been contemplating racing this series in a AZ stock truck.

My mom actually lives in SaddleBrook about an hour north of the Pima track... :D
I hate driving around there though,....... The land of hwy speed cameras..

I wonder how hard it would be to get my Bronco legal for this?

What are their rules like?

It isnt a class for street driven trucks. There is a lot of fender banging in these races and your truck as -is would be heavy. The rules require that all glass, plastic and trim be removed and allow for all the sheet metal to be removed except for the exterior panels like Kens race Bronco. Other than that a fuel cell and a cage of at least 1.75 x .120, a race seat and harness is all that is required.
I understand that in no way would my bronco be race legal as it sits...

Basically, what I was asking was about the 1.75 cage.

So unlike SCORE they will still allow the 1.75 cage?

To be honest I was just curious & asking a queston that might help others with questons... I tend to do that alot...

Can wait to see some videos of this action.... :)

Sounds simple enuff.. buy a parrts Bronco/Blazer/Grand Waggy that runs, skeletize it, add a cage, keep her under a 33x12.50, I didn't see an exclusion for body lift, so 2" it, and rock out with yer Kock out...

In a nutshell, right?

That don't sound like it wouldn't pass the safety tech...
Sounds much to risky to me... :o

Hey Gunit, did you edit your 1st post or was my net connection being very slow?
I dont remember seeing any of that in post #5 the 1st time I read it.

I'll have to read the rules again, but ya... I think an internal "roll bar" and the doors bolted shut (or welded). I do expect some serious door banging, being a short-course series. Maybe Raffo can come show us his east-coast style!! :D

That would be fun to set up here, in Idaho, can think of a handful of areas that are enjoyable in 4hi at 45- 50, I could imagine if a guy/gal knew what they were doing, and was in a "race" setting, that could be 80-100 on the straits..

Some of the hairpins with a precipice.. probably not 80... but an overall good enough stretch of dirt, it could be a good time.

Idaho City to Horsheshoe bend, on the back roads through Grimes Creek, Or succor creek from Or to Id, 20+ miles of good time, there is a loop off of that that wouyld add 15 miles or so, down into Leslie gulch, which is a fancy way of saying "there is a town at the bottom of that there reservoir".... and then double back.. on.. umm. some goldurn road, something flats.. but the oint is, we could have some cool courses for that sorta thing here, then there are the dunes at Steck Park, on the snake in Weiser, Could run a loop around Lost Valley reservoir, outside of New Meadows...

Ennh, the bulk of interest here, is Mud, Rocks, or little tuner cars, either literally ricers, or pavement rally types.

So not likely to happen...

Oh and the biggest craze of all, the new ricer.... Diesel.
