I'm looking for a 16 foot aluminum fishing boat ready to go into the water ready for action..
I don't want a project boat, I just want to buy it & go straight to the lake & start fishing..

& of course, I want it cheap. :O

In this weather? Make sure you buy one with a 4 stroke... 2-strokes are outlawed at most lakes around here.

So that's why the 4 strokes cost so much more.....

I guess it dont have to be an aluminum boat.
I like this one.

My biggest concern is that volvo-penta. If you had to change that outdrive out.... it would be more than the whole boat.

Mine... had a 350 motor. The lower unit was 1400 hundred bucks... IF you could find the used parts (we did).

I recently bought a 16 ft basstracker aluminum with a 25 horse outboard Honda 4-strock for 2100 bucks... complete with 12 volt trolling motor and 3 fish finders (not all were installed). The motor is in mexico, or I would sell you the whole thing for 1800 bucks. The reason being... the motor is too big to put on my zodiac. NOT portable for mexico (to take on and off and on and off).

Anyway, that doesn't help you... you want turn key... not "wait and see"

Actually that boat is about what I was originally looking for.
How many people can you legally take out in that boat?
Most of the time it would just be maggie & Myself.
But from time to time might wanna take her son with us.

Got any pics?

I saw that ad, I look everyday. :)

That's smaller than I want.
I want something big enough to fit a few people for a day of fun with its own engine.
You know me Tim.
How long do you think I'd last rowing that across a lake.

Kinda scary when the guy post pics of someones else boat, other than the one he's selling...

I suppose I'd spend up to $2k.
But I'm gun shy, being I don't know if works gonna pic up or not....

The best 2 days of a boat owners life.

The day he buys it...

and the day he sells it. :p

Cam,I saw a guy rowing an aluminum boat at Dana Point Harbor today and thought about this thread. He was going backwards in the wind!Even the harbor patrol asked if he wanted a tow.He was so pissed off,I thought he was going to crush the boat and turn it in with his aluminum cans for some cash!:D

Funny that you mention that.
It wasn't very windy at all today at Castiac, yet I was in one of their $55.00 a day rentals with a 6 HP motor & while trying to troll I noticed we were almost going backwards due to the slight breeze we had.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working... :o
& they actually added $10.00 for hosing out the boat being that we beached it a few times & they had to hose it out.
