Wasn't it Sears that had a TV ad years ago that had something like a big Oldsmobile sedan driving the Pony Express Trail to show how tough the tires were?
I remember they used to have dune buggy kits in the Sears catalog, that looked very much like a Manx.

What year was this written? 1968? Looks like a typewriter job.

JR, you are going back to a time that even I don't vaguely remember! I do believe that at one time, you could even order a house from Sears. I saw an episode of California's Gold and I think that Richard Nixon's family home in Yorba Linda was one of those very houses.

SO.... Yesterday I see Ray Swift's 1958 Stroppe-built Edsel on a trailer in Saticoy.
I nearly wiped out three cars rubberneckin' it. WOW.
Now I'm not trying to rub it in... for those that can't come, but this race is going to be SO F'ING COOL!!!
Ya' all should at LEAST come to the contingency/tech inspection in Mexicali.

I want to go so bad, but I will be moving across the country in the middle of May and the finances do not allow for a trip to Mexico. Make sure to take lots of photos!
Speaking of Sears, does anyone remember when Rod Hall used to race on Sears tires with the Dodge?
