ok ... i'm glad i found this site ... but kinda' not at the same time b/c now all i think about is Class 3's! hahaha. the thing that is really cool is the fact that they're are so many various vehicles that can be used as a base. like the CJ's ... that's just bad ass right there.

anyway ... so how much does the average Class 3 build come out too? i realize that could be an ENORMOUS figure range there pending on what you start with. but basically could a competitive 3 be built for the $10K-$15K range?

& I think the budget can vary so much..

We have the brand new FJ & then we have guys like Chupas & Levett that do it on a tighter budget..

I personally love watching the guys Like Chupas, do it without GPS or radios etc..

Its hard to believe they can but the do! http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/7.gif

Well, I think they have a GPS now.
& they're only on 33" tires..

So you dont need 37" tires on Robby Gordon wheels to race!
But if you do its gonna add alot to the price of your race rig.

Double that last number and you start to get close to parts cost, using every trick there is to keep it cheap. To get up and running, the cheapest way by far is to buy a used racer. There are drawbacks to used racers, but to get up and running, its the cheapest. This class has been around since day one, but where are all the old race vehicles? There have been dozens of CJ's and early Broncos built over the years. Ask Scott about how long it takes to build a new one from scratch, and how much more it costs (percentage) than you budgeted.

we're into it for around $25K or so for i think 7 races ... but that included the car, entry fees, travel expenses, parts, labor, ect. ect.
