I just got my copy of DirtSports & they showed a 442 That not Ron's & I thought Ron's was the only one & original?

This article never mention Ron & they said its was owned & built by the Swift family?

There are at least two. The Swift car I believe is single seat mid engine and not the same as Rons which was also at NORRA.

The Swifts Olds is a custom tube chassis, mid engine like Ken said. Read recently at Swift racing that James Garner drove both Olds at different times.
It sounded real good and finished well at the Norra 1K.

There were 4 race cars built, My car is the first one, It is a 1970 Olds 442 that Garner raced in the 1969 1970 races, Then there was a 1969 442 pre runner that garner pre ran the 1969 Baja 1000 with and Cliff coleman raced also in 1971 Garner raced the Banshee that Swift owns now, Here is a photo of all three and other misc photos, Rod Hall is now the driver of my 1970 442,I hope this info helps

Here is my car after Slick Gardner crashed it in 1971 Hard to believe its the same car, It took me 1 1/2 years of work and 60 k to get it where it is now, The plans are to later this week put it in the Reno Harrahs Museum in the Off-Road Hall Of Fame, and take it out to a few races so Rod can have fun racing it again, We raced it last week in the XO 250 in Reno, It was a shake down run for the car

Ron, very cool to hear she saw some dirt and her future looks pretty bright with the Hall org. Congrats!

Oh and hey, hope that Norra 1000 shirt fit you and I found a repalcement for it in La Paz, so glad to help out. At least you have something to remember what could have been if the motor hadn't crapped out.

What did it end up being anyway?

See ya,
Greg
