Full build thread.
We popped a bottom radiator hose at Parker and cracked the head in the first 20 miles. Made it thru the pile up without a scratch so we are all happy about that.:D

My cell phone is 847-736-5365 Well get up to Barstow Thurs. night, worst case Friday morning. I'll be there with a small crew, so I'd love to park next to you guys during the race if you don't mind. Besides, I like to see the Jeep up close and personal. I'd like to build one with my kid.

I only have the one Passenger seat. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif
But If I make it, I suspect Yikes would wanna pre-run the course as well & he could follow us & he's got a back seat & will most likely have his kid too.

How old is your kid?

Absolutly. We are very family friendly with kids of all ages running everywhere. Just keep your 17 year old away from my 14 year old daughter.;) :D

So long as you don't mind pitting next to a bunch of newbies. Sound's like a good time. How many people from here are racing that weekend?

I will make another lap in my whoop hating rockbuggy Friday after I get done in tech. The Alloy Fat city racing Jeepspeed team owes me on a bet and I gotta see the payoff of teching there Jeepspeed in Clown costumes on Friday so that might screw up my plans.

Retroblazer,
We will be off Outlet center drive somewhere on the course setting up a 40' race trailer and converted big rig Moho. I will be in a tan PSD with a Lance Cramper Thursday night with my Rock Crawler. Rest of the team and the Jeepspeed will trickle in Thursday night Friday some time.
I've been around twice now and plan to hit it again in my crawler Friday morning early.( Thats a rough ride)

Your more then welcome to park next to us and we might be able to help with some limited remote pit support depending on how many show up.

I understand that Jeff Jordans Jeepspeed team is trucking in a band for Friday night entertainment.

CONGRATULATIONS RAFFO AND JEFF!!!

Alright, as brokenbronco indicated, it was tough to get pictures while operating the stop sign. Ha! ...but here they are. First off is Raffo's set-up.

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501086/fullsize/raffo-at-camp.jpg

My set-up.......yeah, someday it'll look more like Raffo's.

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501088/fullsize/raffo-ready-to-go.jpg

Raffo's suspension was very noticeably better tuned than the other Class 3's. He was fast and his rig was stable and controlled.....I'm sure the driver was better tuned as well. Sorry I didn't get any better action shots.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501083/fullsize/raffo---crossing.jpg

This was cool. Raffo was closing hard on this Jeepspeed. He caught and passed him just past the crossing.

Traffic cop's  Ha!
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501074/fullsize/brokenbronco-stopping-traffic.jpg

This guy seemed to be having a decent race......until he passed us in tow.

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501082/fullsize/orange-class-3---5.jpg

There must have been something wrong with this Bronco, because it was just putting around the course all day and sounded like it was on 7.... and I don't think a tire left the ground the entire race. Hopefully he can get it resolved before his next race. ;)
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501072/fullsize/black-class-3.jpg

http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501073/fullsize/black-class-3---2.jpg

This guy has some re-engineering to do.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501091/fullsize/weight-weenies.jpg

Well look at that. I'm famous. Yeah, here's me holding the stop sign, watching everyone else having fun....nevermind the truck blocking the shot.:o Flagging is not for me. I've got to be behind the wheel.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/501097/fullsize/me---the-flagman.jpg

Lastly - Convoy's rig is very nice. I would like to give it a good inspection sometime, before I get mine underway. Would love to see it in action.

It was nice to meet a couple of fellow posters at the race. Our day was strange at best. We started out ok, but we didn't prerun or have a gps map, so the start was tough because it wasn't well marked. I will prerun for sure when I do another one of these races. The first lap and a half went by without any drama, then a problem that we have been fighting since the 1000 popped up again. It was low fuel pressure. We had changed the pump to a more conventional Holley blue pump instead of the high dollar Aeromotive pump. For whatever reason the pressure dropped from six down to 3-0 psi. As a result, the truck started stalling regularly. Finally, the starter puked. I had a spare, but I still burned quite a bit of time changing it.
For the fourth lap, Jeff Dolan drove. He did fine, but apprently came together with 302 while being lapped. No damage, not a single mark on the Bronco, but the guy saw fit to call the race director to protest us. We beat him by a full lap. Our truck was impounded while he did another lap, then they convened a CRB meeting. Three hours after we finished, we were finally vindicated and anounced the winner! We took the class win and fast lap.
I dropped the truck off in El Cajon last night to start to get ready for Baja in June. I'll be going with a thin crew,so let me know if any of you are interested in pitting.

Seemed like a lot a racers where over shooting the right hand turn before or around MM 1. A group of us where on that corner pointing to turn to the right, but most racers just ignored the help and continued straight. Like you said you could tell who had pre-run the course. Congrats on the win retro!!

It was nice meeting you Chris. That was a BS call at best. If you are running any local races that I have pre run I'll be happy to share my notes next time.

We ended up 10th in Jeepspeed, not too bad considering we had two break downs, and did 3 driver changes so everyone could have fun.

We still had a better time then you BTW:D LOL.
