What is the min weight for 3 and do they measure as raced or bare vehicle with no gas, spares, tools, etc.
Thanks, I promise I'll buy a rule book soon:D

I dont think they're too concerned with what your rig weighs..
Because theirs been Suzuki Samurai's in Class 3 & Full sized Broncos.
FYI a stock Sammy weight is right around 2000lbs.
& a Stock Full sized Bronco is right around 6,000 lbs
& they'ed both be Class 3.
My Sammy currently is up too about 2,470.

CR41 Class 3 Specific: Vehicle must weigh 3,500 lbs minimum.
page 61
CR41 General: Weight shall be considered wet weight for closed course and dry weight for long course. (Dry weight is will all fuel tanks drained.) Tools, spare tires, and parts must be removed, but otherwise the vehicle must be race ready. Official weight will be considered weight shown on official scales.

hope that helps.

I dont think anybody would make you add 800lbs of ballast if you show up with a leaf sprung Samurai.

They let them in class 3 so they can fill in the holes between the whoops and in the river crossings. Every once ina while as your doing a river crossing you can see the top of an antenna sticking out of the water a few inches.....YUP.....Samurai. .....and sometimes while scimming across the top of the whoops you'll actually hit their antenna or lights. :)

TOO FUNNY!!! Reminds me of the old days; mudding in a stock Sammy with water up to your knees in the cab, glamis in a stock Sammy with an 8' couch strapped across the bed-sides with a string tied to the throttle and operated by the passenger, jumping the Sammy and bending both front leafs on impact.
GOOD TIMES! (sorry about getting off subject, carry on.)

I am in a similar boat with the amigo. It is heavier and faster than a sammy, but I would have to add balast to get to a dry weight of 3500. I guess thats a bridge I will have to cross when I get there. I just wouldnt want to cause a contraversy over running a few hundred pounds under weight.

I'd be willing to bet that you hit #3500 faster than you can imagine, but you may be able to do it. I am pretty sure SCORE does not even own a set of scales.
