How wide are most open car trailers?

I'm gonna be doing some changes around the house & just about two minutes ago remembered how I'd like to get a car trailer one day.
So before make these changes, I should see if I can fit a trailer back there.
But.... I'm not sure how wide your typical two axle trailer would be at its widest?

A standard car hauler is 84" between the wheel wells and 96" -100" outside.

So your saying outside of the fenders from one side to the other should be within 100 inches?
I'm trying to open up a gate to allow access to the side of the car port & I should have that much room, I just need numbers to make sure.

Thanks I called a friend of mine that has many & he told me 102 is legal as wide as your allowed.

I should be able to fit my trailer in here. :cool:
