Hello,

Congressman McCarthy's Wilderness Release! Act has gone to the floor and is official!
It will be known as House Resolution (HR) 1581 and the potential to recover miles and miles of lost roads
and multiple use recreation lands is huge. This is a great opportunity to stem the tide of wilderness
designation and show Washington DC that the motorized recreation community can speak with one huge voice.

It calls for the release of thousands of acres of Forest that is being treated as wilderness
despite the fact that it was deemed not suitable for wilderness by the Forests themselves years ago.
Hundreds of miles of scenic roads criss-cross this land, but they are presently closed within the ironically
named "Inventoried Roadless Areas". Believe it! Many of the National Forests in the West have hundreds
of thousands of acres of this unsuitable land locked up tight, unless of course you're on foot.

This Bill will also force the release of all "Wilderness Study Areas" that have languished on BLM lands for decades.
They too are laced with roads, which is why they have never been considered for wilderness and should be returned
to a far more reasonable multiple use status.
