MOSS BROTHERS READY TO COMPETE IN MEXICO
‘BY THE NUMBERS’

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Granddaddy of all off road races, the 44th SCORE Baja 1000 begins on November 18 in Ensenada, Baja Mexico. The Moss Brothers’ KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco will be one of the nearly 300 entries from all over the world, who will be pitting their skills and strategy against each other and the Mexican terrain to finish and, for a few, win this final race of 2011 season. The Moss Brothers are the defending Class 3 champions in the Baja 1000.

With 35 SCORE Class 3 wins, including seven in the Baja 1000, and eight SCORE Class 3 championships, the 12 person all volunteer Black Bronco crew is reuniting from across California to conquer this years’ 692 mile event. Scheduled to start and finish in Ensenada with a 32 hour time limit, this race will be a challenge of speed, time and durability for both racers and chase crew on a course which will encompass much of the 08 and 09 courses and feature all of the legendary challenges and landmarks racers have come to expect from the Baja 1000. “This course will be rough and there will not be any room for error. The winner will be the one that saves their truck and still runs steady with no mechanical problems,” stated Don Moss.

The Moss Brothers have overhauled the motor in their Ford Bronco and are proud to say that it is still FORD powered. Ford is celebrating 110 years in racing in 2011 and the Moss Brothers join in their celebration. The team has also spent countless hours and weekends completing inspection, maintenance and in some cases, rebuild of components in preparation for this race. Fans may remember the windowed transmission case that was repaired with a JB welded peso to finish last year’s Baja 1000. The tranny case has been replaced, although the race course repair was still working fine.

The Moss Brothers KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco is proud to have competed exclusively on BF Goodrich Tires since 2000, proving their durability and reliability on 4wd enthusiast’s drivers. BFGoodrich Motorsports manager Frank DeAngelo states, “Mexico is very, very special to the BFG brand and a place where we have had great success winning the overall Baja 1000 title 24 or the last 25 years. Baja is our proving grounds and we thank Sal and everyone at SCORE for making the SCORE Baja 1000 the premiere event that it is.”

A special sponsor stimulus package from Mid State Barriers Inc. went a long way in securing the team’s participation in this year’s event. The KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco will also be sporting the first models of newly unveiled AutoFab 1978-79 Bronco production fenders.

Fans can track the action live on www.dirtnewz.com and www.race-dezert.com with live feeds and also tracking information.
