I see in a lot of race pics that the spares on some c3's look like they are hanging 5 feet off the back of the truck. I know that the EB is short on space. but whats up with it. Is it an attempt to cantilever some weight off of the front? Would this help or hurt overall vehicle stability?

Yes both reasons. Trying to get weight towards the back and away from center a little to slow down unwanted directional changes. I think that was one of the complaints of the Chenowth Millinium buggy is that all the weight was in the center and it was kind of squirrly. Try doing 90mph across a "dry" lake bed in a light rain in a class 3. Whoohoo!

Good enough for me. I'll hang mine way out there as well.

offers a little more cushing for the pushing too ... but ... risk having the spares damaged. has anyone lost/damaged a spare from a rear hit?

So how does one figure out the proper distance back to go for ones Rig?

Is it mostly an Eye ball engineering thing?
or do most racers do it mathmatically?

Just do it last, after you build the shock towers and sinck your fuel cell or you can run into space problems, or the spare could end up to close to the cell and can be damaged if hit to hard from behind.

We plan on doing ours last, after weighing out the truck front, rear and overall and figuring out placement from there for the best balance.
