Ok, I took another step closer today towards actually racing Class 3 Myself....http://www.class3racing.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
Ok, We all know its only a matter of time before I go for it & Race Class 3.
I delivered Blanco to Fantelli Motorsports Today to have him start up on Class 3 legal MODs & in attempts to win over Savage to accepting Blanco into the SCORE legal Class? http://www.class3racing.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
I like to joke around from time to time & post to the Moss Bros to look out cause once I'm legal I'm gonna show them how its done! http://bestsmileys.com/lol/5.gif
But that facts are I've never EVER raced any sort of orginized racing events...
So I'll probably be the slowest guy on the course for a while..
But the way I see it is that due to that I might actually finish. http://thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif
& with that in mind I'd be so Proud! http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/7_4_16.gif
Anyways here a series of Pics with What Rodd Fantelli will most likely be doing to my Bronco Cagewise towards my Racing attempts..
I've gotta be honest!
I really dont wanna race at all....
because I know once that starts I will NEVER EVER own my own home...
This is Fantelli's Class 8 legal bronco That mine will be following the build from basically.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/510966/fullsize/img_3806.jpg
I keep telling him to tell Jeff stowers to redo the suspension so they can race class 3....
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/494529/fullsize/img_1632.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/510960/fullsize/img_3804.jpg
My dash will be different than this due to my insistance on wanting it my way.
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/510962/fullsize/img_3805.jpg
I'm gonna hold off on my windshied & door bars & FuelCell until My balls grow....
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/510967/fullsize/img_3807.jpg
http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/510968/fullsize/img_3808.jpg
But the plan is to have everything SCORE legal to that point...
& then I'll be able to race with minor additions....
The facts are I'm trying to avoid racing because I've seen the logistics of racing & supporting a chase crew etc....
So if I figure for now I'll start on building up my Balls & once I feel the fit my pants properly, I'll add the door bars & the windshield bars & cell & then its go time for me to show all you experienced racers how it suppose to be done.
& in case you wonder why they dont race this in Class 3....

try not to think much about it, because, it will cost a lot, for us, it's really worth it, as you know, our results have not been that good, we keep on trying, i know our racer looks like we haven't spend a dime on it, but, we really are, altought all the "hardware" was done by us, you still spend a lot of money, and all has come from our wallets.
what does everybody else think about that, about money against fun :D , is it worth it?

Blanco,
Racing is an addiction, make no mistake about it:eek: once you cross that line and actually do it, you will always want to go back for more, but brother, there is nothing like hunting down the guy in front of you, and....
if racing interfiers with your job, work harder:)
if racing interfiers with your marriage, leave it (your marriage);)
if racing interfiers with your children, start Žem young:cool:
Also, you will spend a lot, its a wallet race.
good luck, never give up...

Sounds like a good plan, Blanco.
There's lot's of us in the same pickle as you and one day we'll all be there.
Hell at least your making progress. I can't even justify spending a dime on my project until after my wedding in October.....

I say go for it as well. I mention the Kia often because that was a big factor that motivated me to get into the class. The Skiltons had multiple championships, and I wanted to take a shot at them. Unfortunately, we only raced together once. They spanked us, even though it was our first race that happened to be 1800 miles long, but we did finish.
Its worth it to me, but I'll tell you it takes a huge amount of determination. Short of being able to keep food on the table for my kids, I'll still keep coming out. I am very fortunate to have a crew that continues to come out with me.

you better not do that to me!!!
if i win the 1000 this year, are you still gonna race '08, or are you gonna hang up the helmet and suit like Darren did in the Kia to you? . i got into this class just to chase (hunt) you down!!:D

now isn't that a silly question?
we show up and race whenever we can... i don't regret doing it.
For the guy that's getting married... get a prenump... or get out quick!!!
We all think we've found the right girl until the day after the honeymoon is over!!
why do you think Anger Issues racing was spawned... a non-supportive wife!!! (she supported it for like.... two weeks).
Good luck CAM. the first time you leave the start line, you will be hooked, wether you go 1 mile or a 1000. The first time a kid in mexico comes up to you, and wants you to sign his shirt.... because he thinks you are some kind of hero... the first time you pass a LEGEND like Rod Hall (even if he's having a problem)... if we all waited until we had enough money to do it RIGHT... this would be called "class3wannagoracing.com"

I could see it now, there on a budget & moneys tight but a race they both wanna do is comming up.
How do they decide who gets to race...
Or whos parts are more important & stuff like that.

Of course I am, but not at the risk of getting this thread locked on us for someone steering it off topic like this. Hopefully she will start a new thread about her class 5 and we can all check it AND know where to find it any time we want to come back to it......now, this is STILL......(see below), so let's stop this conversation and let this thread get back ON tOPIC.

Well from the thread title adjustment ( & relocation ) you've probably figured it out by now. :o
I'm not gonna persue racing Blanco. :(
Savage told me awhile back already, no to my Cage & to be honest I'm somewhat relieved.
Who am I kidding.
I cant afford to race, So I'm just continuing its build as a dedicated pre-runner/Chaser.
Box now has a secured mounting for it, But I'm gonn change it so it slides out, lifting it over those hook points is a pain in the butt.

I'm gonna mount a 3rd seat here behind the driver.

Being my Bronco weighs over 4000lbs, SCORE requires 2" tubing for the main cage structure.
I have 1.75.
I could go race most other sanctions, but why build a truck that you know wont be allowed to race against the Big Dawgs in SCORE.
Thats my way of looking at it anyways. :o
& I dont wanna start over on the cage.
realistically I love being able to drive the Bronco wherever I want & have comforts like A/C & Heat & such.
Beside I still get to run the Course'es with all my race friends doing pre-runs.
