I’ve found some time to write an introduction, finally.

My name is Todd Durdella and I live in Orange, CA. I am a Mold Maker (die-cast aluminum) by trade and have been for fifteen years. About a year ago the company I worked for shut its doors and forced me to make some decisions. I opened my own mold shop in Corona with a partner. This has allowed me the freedom to spend more time on my first love; fabrication and design. I am down the street from Allied Offroad, a neighbor of Write Trans., and a block from Kartec and Mose Built so I have plenty of inspiration.

I’ve been fabricating for myself and my friends for about twelve years; mostly prerunners, custom lifts, etc. Recently a friend asked me to build a custom long travel Rhino set-up and since I always build jigs for these types of things I figured that when I’m done I’d offer the kit to the public as well. This is why I started www.151FAB.com; so far I’m only using the website for the e-mail address. It’s not that I like the Rhino craze, I think its ridiculous, but there's a huge market there. I also build accessory racks and I have a jig for extending and/or lifting TTBs from 1 to 6 inches in any direction.

My Bronco project is in it’s infancy but the plans are for a sportsman class/prerunner with 4+ beams, C-Overs and bypasses up front and a linked rear with a mezzanine setup. I’m going to try to make it so that I can bolt on a floating leaf in the rear and pull the coils if I want it class3 legal. Of course big plans like this tend to take too long and you forget what the original plan was, so we’ll see what happens.

I’ve never raced offroad, but would love to some day and if I had my choice I’d race class3. The reason I like class3 is because of the history behind the vehicles that race this class, especially the Bronco. On my very short list of thing to do before I die is to race Baja in a Bronco! In the meantime maybe I can crew for someone at a local race once I get settled into my new life as the father of a little girl; Abygail Grace is due on 7/17/2007.

Remember that in Class 3 you can only go 4 inches wider in front MAX!

I've been wondering what the guy in your Avatar doing?

It almost looks like he just threw up  ( No Offense )

Congrats on your Daughter..

My Brothers birthday is 7/16 :)

& why 151 & not some other Number?
Is that the Shops Address?

He is throwing up!!!:D All this was just for fun at the beginning so I drew up a logo that all my drinking buddies would enjoy. Kinda a logo with two meanings: you could look at it as ultimate performance so good it makes you sick or as an appropriate replacement for the standard mens and womans restroom sign at your favorite watering hole:) . If I do end up selling products obviously the logo will change but for now its still fun and besides my wife hates it and I enjoy teasing her with the idea of putting graphics of it on her baby (the Benz, not Abygail) and emblazoned across the Bronco. The 151 is a remnant of days past as well. This whole idea of fabbing off-road and on-road (c5 corvette conversion products for muscle cars) suspension products is just a fun dream job so I'm trying to keep it light-hearted.

Thanks for all the congrats guys, I'll probably post a picture of my baby sitting in my other baby('94 bronco) soon just to fulfill the dorky, prideful new father feelings I'm already having.

Oh yeah... I know about the 4" max over trackwidth, thats why I was asking about the wheel offset idea in one of the other threads here. Just an idea. TTBs are easy enough to come by that if I was to run class3 I'd just swap out the front for a legal set of +1.5" beams.

Darn you figured my secret out... Its a totally inappropriate name for a company, but like I said, it was conceived long ago. If I ever sell a product you'd like; you've earned one credit toward it.
