Lets see what you got? Post some pictures of your front and rear bumpers. I won't be building mine for sometime but I'd like to see what you guys are running and how they are tied into the engine cage or rear interior cage or frame.

I probably have lots of Moss Bros bumpers pics, If they give me the go ahead I'll look through what I have to show you their Bumpers...
But they might have some Ideal ones they prefer to show?
But heres mine..
I drew out the plans for of what I wanted & Fantelli Motorsports made it happen for me. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/7.gif
Its not tied to the Cage yet in these Pics,( Considering that I had no engine cage at the time ) But maybe by this week end.

The rear bumper might get some changes, if/when I start racing because this bumper dont give me to much Nerf protection..:o

The rears were done that way to protect the body from boulders & such while rock crawling on trails such as John Bull.
Originally during this build, Blanco was suppose to be a multi-purpose rig for Both the slow Stuff & the fast too..
But now that I have my Sammy, its now what I use on the rocks & Mud etc & The Bronco is now leaning much more towards Class 3.

By the looks of that last picture, it looks like someone forgot to weld the bottom tube to the top tube at the bend.....???

Gotcha.....good deal. Hey, Cam, as far as your comment about needing more nerf protection, don't worry about it, JUST DRIVE FASTER! :) :) :)

the best, most functional non-race rear bumper for a Bronco I've seen is Chris Wilson's. Well thought out and designed for desert abuse.
I hope he doesn't mind me posting pics he sent me a while back.

Although this isn't a Bronco, I really like the design of this DMZ built rear bumper:

Thanks guys, this really gives me some good ideas on what I want to do with my Bronco. It's at Titan-Off Road right now and Bob (owner) is going through engine, tranny and transfer case before we move onto the rest of the build. Damn, toys are expensive. :D

Chris said he left that jack in Mexico pre-running last weekend. Cheap HF Chinese jack stopped working. My Chinese cheapie lasted about a year before it died too.

As far as pictures, you are welcome to post whatever you have of the #300 Bronco. The trick stuff is hidden in the mufflers.
As far as bumper material, it was whatever was left laying around the shop at the time. Ours are pretty heavy, and we have changed lights a couple of times since the front one was built. We have talked about building some lighter, better designed stuff.
Ours are attached only to the stock frame, I wanted to keep the nerfing forces away from the cage. Again, this was not the lightest way to do it, just another throw back to the stock car experience.

What kind of impace can your front bumpers take and the truck still be driveable?

Are yours welded or bolted to the truck?

Everything is bolted to the frame. Theoretically we could unbolt everything and bolt in another frame. I have to unbolt that entire rear bumper thing (4 bolts) to get the truck in my garage. That ding in the front bumper you can see in the photo was obtained getting the attention of a Hummer driver on cruise control in the fast lane. That's not thin wall tubing, the nerfs are proportional to the nerfed. 5-1600's barely leave a scratch.

Awesome. I'm always surprised at how many people weld entire trucks together. I would hate to have to cut parts off everytime something has to be replaced due to damage or change of design. Building trucks in a modular fashion seems to be an old-school mentality, but it sure makes sense to me.

I second that!!!! I like to see things like bumpers ,bedcages all removable ,especially if it is a street driven vehic.but it also makes for easy replacement or racers too ....I can't tell ya how many times i've cutoff and rebuilt "parts" of our race truck bumpers only to wish i could un bolt and start from scratch and have a better finished product.....
