Sacramento, CA - After sitting out the first two races of the 2007 SCORE racing season, Don and Ken Moss are looking forward to taking on the rugged Mexican desert in this weekend’s 39th annual Tecate Baja 500 race. The team has five championships and 22 wins in SCORE Class 3 competition. The brothers are also four time class winners at the Baja 500 race and are undefeated in SCORE Class 3 ranks.

In the months since their win at the 2006 SCORE Baja 1000, the brothers have been meticulously checking over their ’79 black Ford Bronco which they have campaigned with very few changes for all 22 wins. “We’ve had 7 months to weld up all the broken parts in the old girl,” said Don Moss, “and we are looking forward to racing against the Baja 250 winner.” ATO transmission in Rancho Cordova, CA has joined the Black Bronco crew with new parts for the Bronco. Don cashed in his award from American Racing and the Bronco will have new American Racing Teflon Mojave ATX wheels sporting new BFG Baja TA rubber.

Round 3 of the six race 2007 SCORE Desert series will feature a record number 525 starters, the largest field in race history. Traditionally one of the most popular events on the SCORE schedule, over 150,000 spectators are expected to enjoy the world’s best desert racers in action at this year’s race. The green flag will drop for the race at 6 am on Saturday, June 1 in front of the Riveria del Pacifico Cultural Center in Ensenada, Mexico for the motorcycles and ATV’s. The car and truck classes will follow at about 10 am, to leave in 30 second intervals. The tight and technical course will run in a clockwise direction, running East into the middle of the penninsula, then South, followed by a West travel section, turning north, then East, North, Northeast and back West for the final charge back into Ensenada. Though similar to prior year’s courses, this course will not go through the Pine Forest east of Ojos Negros and there will be an addition of a new 50 mile stretch never before used, running from Uruapan at race mile 348 through the Cerro San Antonio mountains and back down to west of Ojos Negros at race mile 398. “We have been able to add this amazing section on the way back to the finish and this area will provide many stories to the legend of SCORE baja racing,” reports SCORE Vice-President Paul Fish. The racers will be given 20 hours to complete the course and cross the finish line inside the Campo de Softball Jose Negro Soto stadium, also in Ensenada.

Fans can track progress of the team with unofficial checkpoint times posted at the SCORE web site at www.score-international.com. For the first time, the Moss Brothers’ Class 3 Bronco will team up with Rally Track to run one of their prototype tracking devices. Check their web site for real time satellite tracking of race number 300 at http://www.rallytrack.com/livetracking.htm. The Moss brothers and their ‘Black Bronco Crew’ look forward to bringing you this racing excitement and adding win number 23 to their resume. The team anticipates a start time of about noon.

The race will be filmed by Aura 360, SCORE’s television production partner, to air later this year as a one hour special on The Outdoor Channel in the US and ESPN International worldwide.

SCORE Radio has officially signed on the internet airwaves. In association with Blue C Communications, SCORE International has launched a bi-weekly show designed to be the direct source of information, race updates and interviews for the SCORE Desert racing community with hosts Cameron Steele and Sal Fish. The 90-minutes shows are available on the internet and are downloadable as a Podcast. The shows may be found at www.score-international.com by clicking on the SCORE-Radio button in the top right corner.

“I am utterly speechless with the interest in this year’s 39th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000,” said Sal Fish, SCORE CEO/President since soon after it was founded in 1973. “And, if you know me, I am never at a loss for words. This race began our love-affair with Baja and its people back on July 26, 1974 and what a tribute this year is to the legacy of this great race.”
