I've heard that a friend/Sponsor of the Raffo team just had his Bad Ass Trick TJ Jeep stolen from San Diego Airport parking lot.
I'm assuming it was a secured lot & I know he had the same alarm system as myself...
& considering how much cash I've been investing in Blanco, I'm getting concerned about Blanco's security. :o
So I've been wanting to install a Grant Security system I use to have a while back.

& since you must run a Grant Steering wheel or adaptor, & that I see no need to keep the factory Cruise control, I was considering getting a grant wheel.
I'm figuring I dont need nothing fancy..
Just a funtional comfy Wheel, Like this one.

This wheel is dirt Cheap & I think would do the job I need it to do just fine..
I'd prefer to spend $30.00 than $300.00 for a trick Momo...
Is there something you racers would recomend I consider before getting an after market wheel?
I was also considering this center pad just in case.

I've had that very item on my Bronco for about the last 12 years or so and I still have it so I guess I'm either lucky or it works :-).
I know you want to take the cheap route with wheels, but I'll warn you that most Grant wheels are cheap - and I don't just mean inexpensive. My Grant wheel bent on one of the first 4 wheeling trips I took it on and you know I'm not exactly a hulk of a guy. I've had several wheels since then that have worked much better. I may be somewhat of a wheel snob, Blanco, because I currently have a Momo wheel and I love it. My machinist makes an adapter for whatever wheel I'm using - one downside is that my horn no longer works.

Hey Todd,
Would your machinist be open to making an adapter for a fellow Class 3 member? If so, let me know what he's charging. I am picking up the sweet mfg. quick release and I want to mate a Grant 742 steering wheel. I agree, the grant's aren't the strongest wheel but I have a 742 and it's very comfortable.

I guess I should have been more clear - the Grant on my Bronco is the locking Q-R setup you posted. The Momo wheel is bolted to the Grant Q-R via a machined adapter.

Yeah, he might be open to that. Got any good pics of the Sweet setup online? (I have a quasi-idea of what it looks like) and also a pic of the wheel.
Thanks,
Todd

This is the wheel:

And I don't mind if I lose my horn.
Thanks Todd. Where is your guy located?

Is the adapter Momo makes to mount to a Grant hub different than what you need for this application? This seems like something many companies would have on the shelf. Here is a 30 sec search.

Thanks for the link Moss. I can't tell if it works with the quick release set up. I'll give them a buzz and see if I can get more info.

I think that will probably work. I remember looking at some of those adapters when I got my wheel. One problem with my installation is those adapters put the wheel too close to my chest. But that's less likely of a problem in a big Bronco than in an EB.
