I for one would like to see a gps forum. I'm so inept at all things electronic that it aint even funny! I have this cool gps stuff, but i don't know how to use it, it would be cool if the more seasoned gps users would share their knowledge.

Anyways, i put up a poll to see what the rest of you thought.

I brought this up once before & I'm glad you posted this....

Because I know theres lots of disscussions to be had on this topic...

& since you started a Poll ( thank you ) I wont feel I might be in error starting the Sub-Forum for that.

If theres a poll count showing we need this forum I'd be very happy to start it! :)

GPS is like most other eletronic gizmos & has lots to learn about & constant up-dates etc.....

So I can see the need for such a forum. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/m2c.gif

I'm trying to keep C3R as simple as Possible so that you guys dont have to search through countless forums as a TWW member complained about on my other site....
You know who you are. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

i agree. the gps itself has a lot of futures that most of us don't use, why? because we don't know how to use them, haha, or because we don't know what's capable to do, right, so, my vote for this thread.

Dave -- was that you that helped us out at Chkpt 3 at last year's 1000? If so, shoot me an email at scott@coachbarnes.com -- I've never had a chance to catch up and say thanks to whoever that was.

I believe that was Glenn Long that helped you out last year at the 1000. I think he towed you out to the road or somthing like that. He drives the lifted dark grey F350 Ford. - Gary.

I suggest a box cutter as a great first step. Then find a competent shop to install it for you. Drive 2000 miles with it on then ask a real question. The manuals cant be that bad to figure out. On Topic?

I have seen all your GPS posts on this forum and RDC and all the commotion over there with PCI. I am just curious which step you have acheived from my list. Not being a dick just getting straight to the point. Chupa has some good advice on the other thread with the emulator.

Whatever! You obviously didn't read the whole thread at rdc. I'm done with this!

btw out of anyone here or at rdc chupa was the only one to step up with good info. Thanks Chupa!

Go back and read again, amigo. The other thread on this site has plenty of good info on GPS use (on topic) posted by several. You just need to take the time to read, comprehend and practice. The only dick I've seen on this site is the one that started calling names like a child. I don't think that's in the spirit of what this site was started for and what it was meant to accomplish, but I might be wrong. Personally, Moss2's post make me LMAO, which is what I enjoy about "most" of the posts on this site! Plenty of comradere' and pokin', but very little name callin' and childish behavior...

 Whoa!

Did you have a rough night? Or wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

Show a little respect to the The Champs (Please!)
& all our other members here on C3R..

We're all here as a family, so to speak.

I really think you misunderstood Moss'es point..
I also would like to cut ahead & learn what I could before I even get my Bronco back in my possesion.

But the best way to learn is actually do.

If we actually drive around everyday using the units we would better be able to ask how do I do this or that.. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif

All we are saying, is give peace a chance, all we are saying......

Can someone call me a douche bag now?

Alright guys, lets get back to GPS thread and keep the peace. No harm, no foul.

Absolutely! It's kinda like off road racing, you can read all about it, and watch the videos, and even watch somebody do it, but you don't get the feel until you take the wheel (or handlebars) for yourself! Most of the basic questions will be answered in a very short time, and then you will be able to ask very specific questions that others can help you with!

EEEASY Boys!
Can't we all just get along. Back on topic here. I agree with with the idea that a GPS forum would be a good thing. Maybe even more so a race electronics forum that would encompass a multitude of race gadgetry as mentioned before. There will always be a latest and greatest and there will always be one of us buying/using it. Sharing info on the understanding of these gizmos and how to achieve maximum performance from them, weather it be GPS, radios or whatnots would be a good thing right?.

Its all about helping each other get better and get to where we want to be individually with our rigs and for others, their race team.. Just my .2
