Convoys Nitrogen thread got me thinking about what kind of OBA I'd buy if I had the money; so I did some looking around.
Power tank has this package:
http://www.powertank.com/ecom/images/product/18.364.600x400.10lb_yellow_PkgA.jpg
Includes:
-PT10 Alumuinum Tank (powder coated) w/ Nickel Plated Valve
-SuperFlow HPX Regulator
-25' HP1100 braided hose
-Power Grip Guard
-Super Bracket
-Tank Boot
-Reg. Cover.
All for $429.95 (and they say you save $30)
PolyPerformance offers this:
http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/t_57.jpg
Includes:
-5, 10 or 15 Lb Al Tank
-10lb & 15lb Tanks Come With A Handle
-Mounting Bracket Included
-150 PSI Constant Flow Regulator
-25 Ft, 200 LB. Max Flow Self Coiling Hose
-Air Chuck
All for $174.99
In my opinion power tank does have nicer features (powder coated bottle, nickle plated valve and probably a little nicer regulator but is it really worth the additional $255?

It all really depends what you plan on doing with you OBA..
Currently I have a an Extreme Aire set up on Blanco with a 2 & 1/2 Gal tank..
& so far from my use of it..
It works great for many things that dont need a consistant flow..
When ever I'm trying to Blow out all the dust after a desert run, I ralize that once the tank is empty I need to let it re-fill before its ready to go.
i'm sure it would do just fine for busting loose Lug Nuts on wheels & such at a race Pit..
But it needs time to re-fill the tank before you can expect too much from it.
But considering it has a 100% duty cycle, its not like it will over heat .
It will run all day long. :)
I've come to learn with experience that tanks do keep a short duration bust of pressure better than a Compressor.
But Then again The compressor refills itself.
& theres no going to a shop to re-fill it.
The more I wheel though........ I'm wondering, about whats best..
For a racer, I'd go with a Tank..
because what air you might need will be ASAP!
No time to waste.
Yet as a chaser, I'm still not sure...
I still bet a tanks better.. because in race pit situations you want it ASAP!
& my set up aint ASAP!
To be honest, I'm seriously considering swaping the Extreme Aire Set up to my Sammy & going with a tank on the Bronco.

Yeah I was thinking about a compressor and tank set up like viair but i'm kind of leaning towards a co2 tank now like I posted. I'm just too damn impatiant... Like you said though too - no need to go to a shop and refill with a compressor.
Tough call...

Unless you really want the bling factor that the tanks you showed have, you can save a alot of money putting your own system together!
You can get a 20lb bottle from your local welding supply, or from e-bay for 90 bucks. http://cgi.ebay.com/20-lb-Co2-Tank-Keg-Beer-Tap-Kegerator-Taps_W0QQitemZ130127660908QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1267Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I got this regulator from telico 4x4 for 32 bucks http://www.tellico4x4.com/product_info.php/cPath/909_979/products_id/18742
I got some unistrut and 2 unistrut clamps at my local plumbing supply for 25 bucks
You can go to wally world and get a complete compressor accesory kit with hose and various nozles for 30 bucks.
Going that route i'm into it for less than 200 bucks.
OOOps! i just saw the poly performance one for $174 i'd grab it, and save the hassle of chasing down all the parts!

Save weight and go with a Carbon fiber wrapped bottle. They say it weighs about half. Summit sells a 12# bottle for only $508.00:D :D :D

yeah that's something I was hopping to avoid.
The powertank does look really nice but so too does the money i'd be saving with polyperformance. I think that's the rought i'm going to go.
Thanks.
