Hey Ruben,

Glad to see your new site is up and running. Now lets see some pics of that sweet Bronco you're building. :) Or at least the beams.

Can't wait to see it Ruben. Plus in person at the Off Road Expo in October. Have you built any Class 3 trucks?

Are you saying with tha video you have at the opening of your site that those are all your race rigs in the clip?

Nice start on the new site. Like Blanco I was left wondering a little by it why you are the 'premier builders' and who you are and been doing for the 20 years of experience. I am sure it is coming I am just giving my impression. The work you have posted is beautiful. Any ties to Robby Gordon trucks?

speed unlimited
07-10-2007, 07:27 AM
no, we are in no way trying to say that those are our trucks racing in the clips, although the skinless truck in the last half is OUR truck. Its merely an intro to the site, showing the kind of racing that we are passionate about. The 20 years of experience comes from the people behind the shop name who have been racing and preping everything from 1/2-1600 to TT's.

Hey Ruben,

Great website, I think the opening clip and soundtrack is nicely done. Are you going to post more pics of the suspension and cage work you have done on past projects?

Chris

yes Chris, we will have a new photo album up soon, basically click on a thumbnail of the project and it takes you to a whole page of pictures specific to that project. Should be up in a few days!

Alright guys, there has been a good deal of pictures and other content updated on the site. Make sure to check it out when you have a chance. New pictures in photo gallery Iincluding retro bronco pics), and some info on the bronco in the projects section. enjoy.

Recommend that you give me the option to skip the intro -- it's cool, but I don't need to see it everytime I go to the site --

BTW -- To me, a "Retro" Bronco was built prior to 1978. Those new fangled things built from '78 on are modern marvels, not retro.

When the Intro is loading it says "skip intro" right there...

The name wasnt picked by us, dirt sports picked the name, so we use it so people know what we are talking about. But yes, it isnt very "retro"

I am liking those beams...

NOT that I could afford some beams, basically due to having to ship them half way across the country...

BUT, what would those custom ones run?

Hey Ruben,

Can you tell us a little bit about your beams and possibly post some pictures of them? I talked to you a couple of months ago and you were working on setting some pricing for them. Has that happen or is it on a per custom order basis?

Christopher

When we built the beams time wasnt really an issue, considering it was a magazine truck, detail is everything. Added up hour for hour that we put into them, we have 6-7k of time into the one-off set. Since the last mag update we have put uniballs in place of balljoints (37's eat balljoints alive) and made a custom knuckle and brake rotor hat that holds 14" rotors in place. Currently we are trying to put together a kit that will have a built from scratch 4x4 beam with very similar styling that you see on the retro bronco, with the uniballs, custom knuckles, and big brakes. Hopefully we'll have something together in a month or two. Ill throw up some pics right now of the beams as of a month or so. The new stuff you have to wait for the magazine to come out, then we'll spill the beans.

Speed Metal I have the camburg 4" over beams w/ truss and of course they weigh a lot more than stock width style, but those must weigh a ton.
Have you weighed them just to see how much? Looks bitchen though!

Will the new kit use the stock beam pivot location?

speed unlimited
07-18-2007, 07:49 PM
our beam weighed around 8 pounds heavier than your camburg beams, i dont remember the exact number though (thats bare, no knuckle, pumpkin). we didn't weigh the non-pumpkin beam. But we were also concerned about them being tanks.

SteveG, stock beam location will be used.

151FAB, those knuckles are pivoting on (2) 1" uniballs. No kingpin, the 4x4 axle has to get through there.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, its getting closer and closer to getting done every day!
