Check out this comment from Washington State Senator Adam Kline on a off highway recreation ban. Its beyond words how ignorant this guy is.

"I signed on because I have been annoyed, endangered, and angered one too many times by people riding motorized dirtbikes and other of-road vehicles that have no damn business anywhere. But why, why, why, do folks insist on motorized "sports"? Those two words are an oxymoron. There is nothing sporting - athletic, physically demanding - about riding any machine anywhere. And it's a damned annoyance to folks who see the outdoors as a place to go for quiet and solitude and self-exploration. I would be happy to ban the use of the internal combustion engine off-road, by anyone without a handicapped sticker, subject to a stiff fine. Maybe we could call this an anti-obesity measure."

What an idiot. I spent many vacations in Washington and they have some great back country roads and great places to explore with a 4x4. It's guys like this that are in the position to voice their opinion and effect off highway areas that are currently open and subject them to closures. What a shame.

If he was endangered by these then he needs to learn to stay the heck out of the way..
annoyed? then go somewhere else. or get laid to put him in a better demeanor.
angered? grow the heck up.

not physically challenging....hes never ridden before- thats obvious.
probably a card carrying member of the Sierra Club, earth first and a handfull of other similar clubs.

There's a bunch of people over on DR who have emailed him. Me included. If I get a reply i'll post it up.

Here's what wikipidia had on him:
"Adam Kline is the State Senator for Washington's 37th district, comprising part of South Seattle, all of Renton and one precinct in Tukwila. He sits on the Committee on State and Local Government and the Ways and Means Committee as well as chairing the Judiciary Committee.

Kline is a veteran of the Civil Rights Movement. He worked for SNCC in Greenwood, Mississippi, during the 1964 Freedom Summer and, after law school, returned to Greenwood in 1972 to work for North Mississippi Rural Legal Services.[1]

As a lawyer, he primarily has represented plaintiffs in personal injury cases, and has taken (in his own words) "the occasional ACLU case".[1]

During March 1, 2007 state Senate impeachment hearing, Sen. Adam Kline defended Congressional Democrats' lack of interest in impeachment by saying, "Restraint sometimes is not just a political calculation, but a real reflection of the national interest."[2]

Kline has been outspoken in his opposition to off-road vehicles. In an e-mail to a constituent he replied to a letter querying his support for a bill that would ban loud off-road vehicles, confirmed his support for the bill and characterizing off-road vehicle drivers as "spoiled drunk teenagers." He ended the note: "Please circulate this to all motorized sports enthusiasts, so they can remember never to vote for me." It was duly circulated. [2]"

If I hear any more i'll definitely post it up. Just from googling his name you can come up with a fair bit of info on the guy - enough to see that I would oppose him in a few regards. He seems to be a bit of a hot head using some "poor choice of words" with an organization called jail4judges back in 01.
