I'm prepping the Blazer by myself in El Cajon for Saturdays race. If any of you are free tonight or tomorrow night and feel like getting a little grease under your nails feel free to come join the party. Call me for instructions. 847-736-5365 Chris

Hey Chris,

I wish I could make it but I'm on vacation in Seattle right now and won't be home until Sunday. Good luck man, I wish I could be there to support you.

Chris

First, I'd like to thank Nick for his offer to help us at this race. I chose not to run because after getting the truck back together, the steering box was still leaking and the pump was making noise. Having had the majority of our spares ripped-off a couple of months ago, I didn't want to take a chance that the steering box would come apart. The box had been leaking almost out of the top at the 500. We were adding power steering fluid at each stop. I took the top of the box off and picked up a new gasket from Howe, but apparently that was where the leak was coming from. I suspect that the box might be cracked. With no spare box I couldn't afford to have the truck parked out in the middle of nowhere, so I'll take the money I would have spent on this race to get a new pump and box for Primm. I'm happy to see that we have a good number of entries for Primm.

Dumb question Chris, wasn't the shop that you are keeping the truck at supposed to have done the prep work?

Glen had too many projects going and I wanted to save some cash. I like to getting my hands on the truck when I can. I haven't had a spot to work on the truck before my friend bought a house in El Cajon.
