This is pretty exciting for us. Once you have a racer built, it's much easier to ask for "stuff". In this case, we approached a local Ford dealership and offered to park the racer on their lot as part of a Saturday sales promotional. They jumped on it, and we now have a new truck to haul our racer to Mexico! My truck gave a huge sigh of relief know it's not going to have to make that trip again! :D

That would be very cool -- but here's the problem;
Rockwall to Long Beach (http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Long+Beach,+CA&geocode=&daddr=rockwall,+tx&f=d&sll=33.779718,-118.192291&sspn=0.313328,0.572662&ie=UTF8&z=5&om=1):(
We're probably going to fly out for the festivities, though -- looks like a great time!

I'm right there with ya - I'll have my nose under all the old stuff too! They had a bunch of stuff on display in 2000 at the Baja 2000 party at Petersen's and this will be even bigger!
And Scott - congrats on the new truck!!

Thanks Chuck -- it's a diesel, but not an '08 so I won't worry about that this year. It will be an 05-07, low mileage. The deal is that I call them 4 weeks before any race, they then start looking for a low mileage, late model 350 crew dually. They'll install/wire up our radio/gps, give us the truck with 2 spare tires, spare alt and serp belt within 2 weeks of leaving for baja. This is one of the highest volume truck dealers in the country, so their inventory churns daily. Very nice guys to do business with.

Scott,
Just curious, wouldn't a single rear wheel be better? Maybe a little narrower so that it won't catch on palm trees and such? :D Ha!
By the way, I'm pretty sure I will be there on Saturday. Tell everyone to bring their check books or CCs.
