Guys, I will try to see if I can find it... but my pop showed me an LV Review Journal (LVRJ.com) had an article roughly 1.5 weeks ago, about a jeep even that was cancelled, due to a new totally BS policy, that requires event planners (any group of more than 1, using a "pre-determined" trail), to recoup the BLM for all costs associated with processing the permit and putting on the event. It was SO friggin' bogus. This guys permit, of a pretty small gathering, in my opinion, used to cost 70 or 90 bucks. They told him it was now something like 6000 bucks. He was ticked, and it was a great article.

Anyway, I'll try to find it. What about the salary we pay these public employees to WORK on OUR public lands? What the hell is the salary for? Is the BLM a profit center now? Good... then we can get all those tax dollars back, right?

They said fees for pro-races can be as high as 35k. Guess our entry fees will be going up (again). Combine this with the bullsh** Rally Logger thing, which is total waste of money (not-so-humble opinion), and we all need second jobs to go out and race.

Maybe this should be a "rant"! he he. I'll look for the link.

Well here is what I found. In a typical "media" fasion, LVRJ no longer allows you to view articles for free. I'll put the 3 bucks towards my first beer at Primm... here is what does show up, if anyone has the paper lying around in Vegas, or wants to pop for 3 bucks.

Off-roaders ticked off

By KEITH ROGERS REVIEW-JOURNAL

On a balmy afternoon last week, a couple off-road enthusiasts did what they've done for decades on the rugged vehicle trails that twist through public land in Clark Country's back country: They took their Toyotas out for a free ride.

But for Michael Voegele and Steve Syzdek of the Southern Nevada Land Cruisers, fees charged by the Bureau of Land Management for their club's annual fall trail ride, the 30th Glitter Gulch

The BLM did the same thing to the new guy Dennis with the VORRA races in northern Nevada. Call it recovery fees if you can but I call it extortion.
