Unless anyone thinks they might lose some unfair advantage (oooh.... I see you in the pits with a problem)... :p

It might be cool to try to get a pit with all of us together or at least "close". Especially if one of us is getting there early. I haven't thought that far ahead yet, on the calendar.

Further, I think the FJ guys are motorhoming (is that a word?). I'm sure my motorhome will be there... and with a 6:00 group 1 start, I might just be sleeping in it (if I think I could actually get some sleep).

Thoughts guys? Who all might be camping vs rooms, and would you guys be interested in roping off a class 3 pit at main. Remote pits might not work out, but main/start/finish would be cool.

Just to clarify... I'm not suggesting we necessarily "share" pit resources, equipment, etc. I don't know that we all want a group hug, to the point of just tying a tow-strap around eachother and following eachother around the course. I don't want to come into the pits for a tire, and find my guys all crawling around under Moss, looking for a way to make him even faster! ha ha.

Unfortunitly I've already made a commitment else where, but I do like this idea for future races! :D

We could have an agreement to help each other, Unless our actual team pulls in then we'd stop helping out whoever else we we're helping to get back to our team them get back to who ever else needs help.

I like the idea of this sort of comradery within the class. :)

I'd be happy to pit with you guys.

I think we would like to do the same. However, if the main pit is on the lake again, you're on your own! If that is the case, we will go straight to Pit C and set up there on race day. Unfortunately I don't think B or C were very motorhome friendly.

Yeah, we learned our lesson on the lake a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly Mosses had BFG change their tire on the dry lake that year. Still, I'd like to have somebody at every pit.

Hopfully, the main pits will get moved back to the parking lot like they keep saying they wanna do. :)

I have been to this race a few times...and I don't ever remember any "pits' in the parking lot. start/finish and staging, yes.. but pits? don't know about that.

I agree with moss, the dry lake bed does suck... but I also agree with Raffo, I will have people in every pit, mostly because I'm splitting with cousin Andy (sportsman truck). I guess I was more thinking about camping/start-finish pits. For those that get stuck in motorhomes, it might be cool to hang out together. I guess we shall see!!!

One of my guys Dad is coming out from Green Bay,WI with a semi-based motorhome. It's part camper and has a box that can carry a race car. I'm not sure if we will leave it a the start or put it at B or C. I thougtht we were at C last year.

I've pretty much made up my mind... since I have my daughter that weekend, I'm going to bring out the motorhome. I guess my cousin Andy says we can start roping off spots on Tuesday... I have not checked the bulletin lately (that seems awfully damn early). Anyway, it will be a place to hang out, pit, entertain the child, etc, while I'm off kicking all your butts :o)

Who wants to try to pit/camp near eachother? I'll be back in Vegas in the next couple of days, and I'll go out to make sure we get some real estate.

Ken:

I just had a look at the Primm map info on the SCORE website, and it looks like they were successful getting the main pit area off the lake. It is in the same area parrallel with the freeway that it used to be, but running in the opposite direction, and possibly a little shorter. If you are still going to set up in that area, we would very much like to pit there with you. I won't be there until later on Thursday. SCORE is going to allow the pits to be marked after 1 on Wednesday.

I am guessing that the course from mile 5 to mile 65 will be similar or the same as years past, but they are using the railroad overpass owned by the powerplant to get across the railroad. As a result they are required to use a 25 mph speed limit over the thing. No more dry lake run either.

The final BIG item is that our class only runs 2 laps. Visions of Laughlin? That's a long way to tow for 144 miles of racing, OR a 1/3 less punishment, depending on how you look at it.

Well I have several thoughts...

1) yes, it's way too damn short for the amount of money, especially.
2) On that subject, I'm going to start a separate thread on Laughlin...
3) If we only get 140 miles, we should seriously get 1/2 the damn entry fee... it's crap.
4) At the risk of getting myself black-listed from Score... I'd like to think about something else for class 3... sooner rather than later - but we'd all have to be in agreement, which I don't think would happen. Someone would stick to SCORE just to claim class winner, but wouldn't a kick-butt series of chosen races be awesome???

Anyway - my dad comes from Idaho tomorrow. I think cousin Andy is heading there tomorrow (to the race to map out pits). I'll see what we can get. My family has convinced me that driving the motorhome nearly 600 miles for two nights is dumb. Can't say I disagree for 250 bucks in gas - vs 50 in the jeep.

Anyway, hopefully we end up near eachother, but last time we pitted there, there was room for 150 teams, but 250 showed up. ooops. Looking forward to racing against the whole squad, and thanks to Cam for the website - I feel it's helped get to 7 racers - pretty good turnout for the "bad back class"! :l)

You'll never be Black-listed from C3R!
