As some of you might know, the requirement to have a passport to return to the U.S. by car/foot from Mexico has been extended to 2008. However, if you the racer (or a member of a race team) requires Aeromedevac, a Passport IS required for air travel back into the U.S. This is a letter from Aeromedevac, Inc. Air Ambulance:

For the past seven years, Aeromedevac, Inc has been the official air ambulance company for SCORE International Off-Road Mexico events, as well as provided medical support to individual race teams.

With the objective to provide an adequate and efficient medical transportation service, we have always maintained a respected standard with governmental international regulations. This time there is a new regulation that pertains directly to you.

Please be aware that the new passport laws are NOW IN EFFECT. This means that if you get ill or injured in Mexico and need air evacuation, it is required that you have a passport in your possession to return to the U.S.

We strongly advise you to keep your passport on you while conducting your team pre-running preparation and also during the event. Should you prefer to forward us in advance your team's information, we can create a confidential file in our records to alleviate any delays when our services are needed.
