Have any of you class 3 guys thought of running the VORRA races near Sacramento. I think the Moss brothers ran there once a few years ago. Seems like a good chance to test if nothing else. They use SCORE rules. They have 3 races coming up. The last weekend in Sept. and then every other week in Oct. I think you need 3 rigs to make a class or they'll run you with the 7 trucks I'd guess. It would be nice to see some class 3 out for a change. The new promoter seems to be doing a pretty good job. The track layout is not too tight for the big trucks and fairly fast similar to what CORR races.

Sorry, I have been having major computer issues, limited to a dial up connection, and have only checked a couple threads over the last few weeks. Also had a couple of races thrown in there, too.
The VORRA group is an excellent outfit. I worked as a course worker all the way back in the early 90's when I first came to Sacramento and Ed Robinson was running it. I still see Ed at all the SCORE races now, where he has gone back to being a course worker. We ran several races with them, and even won a couple of times running on the short course with the class 8's.
Their races always seem to hit at the wrong time of the year for the other races we have been doing, and there has been a limited group to run against. I can tell you that their short course is NOTHING like desert racing, and our big, heavy trucks seem really slow (ie: boring to watch) on that tight course. The guys that talked about running in low range, well you can do it here. I have considered bringing the truck out on some low profile dirt track tires to see how they work. We have impressed those watching with our desert shocks that soak up their big jumps. They are used to seeing the trucks bounce several times after landing.
So if you want bring some trucks out to race, they would be all for it, and I would sure consider it. We do have a pretty full schedule, and I do like to see my wife and kids every once in a while. I think 3 is all they need to start a class for a particular race, even though it might run at the same time with some other classes. As far as getting the rest of the current racing class to come out, it sure is a long haul for a little race.
