I was just in town (SF) at about 1400 hrs (PST) and Cameron Steele told me that the race will now be in Ensenada at the same dates!
I immediately called and got FOUR hotel rooms; Cameron got TEN! What a hog.

The Checkers/Locos Mocos Clam Drop and Tire Bake is CANCELLED! Sorry!:mad:

According to El Dorado in Colorado (main office). The
35% offered as a refund is all they are willing to
give up. This is according to the supervisor. I was
not told that the home owners were ever directly
contacted. I asked, was cut off with "The 35% is all
we can do for you according to my supervisor." So if
you have a rental there and can use it, you should.
There will be no credits for use on further dates and
no refunds. If you want to press the issue, you
should contact your credit card company.

START/FINISH: The race will start in Ensenada at the
end of Avenue Ruiz. The finish line will be in Santo
Tomas at the El Palomar RV Park.

We heard about this earlier today, but we were not certain. It has just been confirmed by SCORE Ops. that #3 Riviera Racing TT was stopped at the FINISH by Mexican Federal Police (aka Federales).

Mark Post has been arrested and taken to jail, and the #3 Riviera Racing TT has been impounded.

Apparently #3 Post was speeding on the highway during the race, and did not stop when Mexican Federal Police tried to stop them.

Post tried to outrun the Federales. When he got to Santo Tomas it was GAME OVER.

SCORE officials are working with Mexican officials to straighten this mess up. Licenciado Oscar Ramos (SCORE Mexican Liaison) has been contacted to see if he can help diffuse the situation.
