FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 05, 2007

Sacramento, CA -Over 200 entries are expected from 16 U.S. States, Mexico, Austria and Germany to compete in this Friday’s 12th annual SCORE Terrible’s Primm 300 desert off road race. The Moss Brothers, with their Class 3 champion Ford Bronco, will be one of those entries. The Moss Brothers are one of only nine racers who can claim 4 or more SCORE class victories at this venue, where they have reigned over Class 3 since 2004. While many classes will race the full 288 miles, Class 3 is only slated to complete 2 laps on the 72-mile course, for a total of 144 miles. No qualifying, pre-running or chasing is allowed at this event, giving this race a little more of an edge.

The Moss Brothers competed in Nevada at the Best in the Desert – Vegas to Reno off road race a couple of weeks ago. The Bronco made an uncharacteristic early exit and DNF at mile 374 of the 560-mile course after hitting a rock at full speed, which cracked the differential housing completely through, except for the 1/4” strap at the bottom of the truss. Don Moss radioed the crew waiting at the next pit 20 miles out (chasing is not allowed at this race) in Mina, NV and advised of a potential problem to check out and be ready for. The team decided to put the Bronco on the trailer and cut their losses, save any further damage to parts and regroup for the upcoming SCORE Primm race, where they plan to defend their Class 3 title and unbeaten status. In retrospect, Don Moss stated, “We should have bolted the spare axle in and finished the race, THAT IS WHAT WE DO.” The Moss Brothers made it farther than the other 8 entries in their class and were scored in 89th place with less than 50% of racers finishing. A HUGE thank you goes out to BF Goodrich who brought out their pit support network to assist 10 racers overall, including the Moss Brothers. This kind of corporate support is what makes it possible to continue to compete. Since this race, a replacement axle housing for the Bronco was located, a new truss fabricated and all parts have been swapped over.

SCORE celebrates its 34th season this year as the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Series and the new ownership of Primm Valley Resorts by Las Vegas based Herbst Gaming has brought a new name and a return to the original start/finish line area in a more fan and racer-friendly area, as it did for the first nine years. The race vehicles will be able to head out into the open desert by crossing the railroad tracks using the Reliant Energy private paved bridge. “Regardless of the other entries in the class, we now have a challenge in front of us, to finish this race,” Don Moss asserted.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 14, 2007

Sacramento, CA –The Moss Brothers, with their Class 3 champion Ford Bronco, one of only nine racers who can claim 4 or more SCORE class victories at the SCORE Primm race, added a fifth Primm victory to their list, bringing their SCORE Class 3 total to 24 class victories. Celebrating its 34th season, the 12th annual Terrible’s Primm 300 desert off road race drew over 200 entries from 16 U.S. States, Mexico, Austria and Germany on September 8, 2007. Completing 2 laps on the 72-mile course, for a total of 144 miles, the Moss brothers were one of seven starters in their class and only 3 finishers. Don Moss completed the course in just under 4 hours for an average speed of 37 mph and was an hour and twenty minutes ahead of his nearest competitor. “We needed a strong finish after the DNF at the BITD race a couple weeks ago,” reported Don Moss. “The crew completely replaced the whole front axle, from internal parts to external trusses – everything, and it obviously performed up to our standard.”

The Moss Brothers remain undefeated in SCORE Class 3 competition since 2002 and now have their sights set on the 40th Annual SCORE Baja 1000 in November and, hopefully, another victory for a 25th class win. The only question that now remains is – ‘IS this the winningest Bronco ever in SCORE race history ?”
