Steve, Eventually I am Buying the autofab kit, But I cant afford to buy Johns kit right now. long travel is the eventual goal. but right now anything will be better than nothing. used kits would be just fine I will brobably plate and gusset a used kit and but some bilstiens under it.

Thanks for the welcome, My name is Matt Im a Project superentendent, married, 6 year old son, when its not boating season, Im on a dirt road.

The truck is a 1990 Bronco 5.8 e4od Ed Bauer loaded 40k orig miles It was left to us by the wifes dad, sence it was new he always wanted to go wheeling but he was not in the best of health. Me and my wife have changed all that. the truck is baisicly stock, even has a factory roll bar.

I have been around racecars all my life. my last project was a ranger v8 conversion 307 c4 mogi trans Cromoly cage, perrys dash,Giant Equal I beams with bumps and 2.5 kings with 3 way bypass,Giant MS 4 linked rear with 2.5 3 ways and Bumps, 20'' Travel in front and 24 limited out back. fresh air system the whole ball of wax, it was sold to have a family.

The Bronco will be a mild Budget Minded Functional Prerunner. 4'' lift 2.5 shocks with Bumps. deavers in the rear with 12'' bypass in the rear. maybe a 2 link. limit straps, driveshaft loop, skid plates and bumpers. The interior will get a mild steel family style cage. Suspension seats,5 points, and gps.maybe an intercom with headsets. I will also keep the ac.:)

The motor will get exhaust, the trans will get a stage 2 shift kit. ox u joints.

we have gone on trips to occotillo, el mirage, mdr races, cleghorn trail, and soon a trip down the Mojave road.

I look foreward to meeting new people that love this lifestile as much as I do.

Matt, if you can swing it, start with Autofab's basic kit then upgrade as your budget allows. Start with modified beams, radius arms, coils and stock buckets and shocks in the stock location. Broncos still work damn well like that and won't break the bank.

Are you going to stay stock width?

Hey Steve,

Can you tell us what Autofab's basic kit retails for?

Desert, Autofab makes some good quality stuff. Also check out Solo Motorsports in Azusa.

solo built my first set of beams for my ranger. good stuff. I know john well
his stuff is nice. I think im going to use a drop down bracket lift for now, untill I can fund the LT.

If I were more ready financially, I'd sell you my 4" kit and go with the Solo set up right now. since I relatively close to you right now.

As always I will recomend Rodd Fantelli @ Fantelli Motorsports 1-760-787-9219

Trust me give him a call tuesday or later because we're all currently up in Primm.

But when my '90 Bronco was stock I was looking at the options as your currently doing.

& I found for the same price of a superlift drop bracket kit I could get it lifted right with Cut & Turned TTB's.

I've always sworn by his work. http://thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/7.gif
He built my truck & it Kicks butt!
I just pre-ran Primms 74 mile course today with no issues. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif

& I think part of why our C3R's members gave you a hard time for this as your 1st post, is it seems like your just using us for a cheap lift kit.

Let me ask you something?
do you actually have interest in Class 3?

You dont have to actually be a racer, But we all have a Passion for it.

Maybe you could start your own intro thread like most of us have. http://thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif

I hope to see you become a regular part of our Family! :)

Yes I do have Intrest in class 3 I have learned alot from the leducs curt and kyle, I have spent some time around every kind or motorsports, working on and Building Racecars, But racing simply isnt in the budget, I had a jeepspeed truck and sold it, the curries helped me with the setup on that, I like the cut and turn beam idea, I spent some time around alot of trucks and had good luck with a gusseted drop down style lift too.
The cut and turn is only $300. its rebuilding the beams, buying springs and shocks thats the expensive part. I will start a thread when the money is looser and I have decided how envolved the build will be. I read up on rour build and it is great. I like the master Cyl remount, I have seen it done before but not that beefy, your fab guy is good. you should be very proud of your build.

Matt, If you can get modified housings for $300 I really think you should piece a front end together for a bit more than you'd spend on a good drop bracket kit, Used parts for these trucks come up all the time on RDC, FSB and DR.

FYI: I have some used Superlift Radius arms that were modified to use heims for sale. They come with new heims but do need some reinforcing and pivot brackets. I'm selling them for a little more than I've got in the heims, bungs and spacers... $175 + shipping.

BTW: The master cylinder does not have to be relocated to use a coil-over tower like Blanco has. If I'm not mistaken, the Spirit kit keeps the master cylinder in the stock location.

Actually, with my set up & as tall as my shockmounts are, The MC did have to be relocated.

I realize yours had to be relocated.

What I meant was that the coil-over structure doesn't have to interfere with the master cylinder. I've seen a few Broncos that used a similar coil-over mount that didn't require relocating the master like your was.
