A cross-post from the BroncoSpeed section of FSB.

There seems to be a lot of interest in a group camping trip to Pismo/Oceano Dunes.

I'd like to get some suggestions on dates. If it's easier we can try to narrow it down to a certain month and adjust from there. I realize a lot of people are going to need time to prepare for and recover from the 1000, so this doesn't have to happen in the near future, I just want to get something rolling so we can plan early and get a good turn out.

What's everyone's preference on camping? On the dunes or off in an actual campground?

Lastly, what are you guys shooting for... a family friendly trip or a more adult trip? I'm in full-on Dad mode with a 4 year old and a 1 year old that are both camping friendly, so a I'm up for a family trip but I'm also OK with them staying home or only coming out during the day.

Anything else you guys can think of?

So far the end of January or the beginning of February has been suggested.

I like camping on the sand but it's only because I grew up camping on the beaches in Baja. I know a lot of people aren't fans of camping on the sand. Hey there is nothing wrong with a little sand in your sandwich, lol.

If I make it, I'm bringing two EZ-UP canopys

For me its not in any way a girlfriend Issue, its a Work issue.
I typically only know a day or two in advance when I might have a day off..

For that matter I never know when I'll be working either. :o
I only make planns & get into arguments with my Boss for big events like Baja & Primm.
& I dont know that my Bronco will be ready for that & I also doubt my Sammy will be either. ( Snapped axle )

Well damn, I have the same problems with work getting in the way too some times. Stupid jobs. I guess all I can ask is that you try and make it.

Well my fall is going to be pretty busy, as we do a big trip to hell's canyon in the middle of october, I've got a deer tag in Idaho that overlaps that, and we are discussing a pretty major Baja 1000 pre-run trip, that may end up with us going all the way down prior to the race, just to screw around and help someone out - I know Raffo has discussed this with my Cousin Andy. Anyway, it's very unlikely I can do anything in October, and November is pretty well screwed with the 1000 and a thanksgiving family trip.

I guess its sounding like a "spring" trip for me!!

Hey Ken what are you hunting for in Hell's canyon? Elk, deer or sheep?
