new to this site , i was planning to extend my beams later on, i saw roach extend some beams but did he use a plate and then formed it to the size of the beam or did he use a channel beam, does anybody know

3/16" chromo plate and then shaped to mate with the beam.

in the past we have always used c-channel that was cut to match the beam, and then plated over the added section. So it hides the splice, and reinforces the beam.

thanks for your help, and the reinforce plates what gauge and steel do you use

we normally use 1/8" plate, and a second 1/8" plate over that. Or you could use 3/16" and just do one plate. It will work fine either way. look at some pictures of how various shops do it, and make sure you have a good understanding of how to make the connection between both cut sides, being such a critical suspension part, it needs to be strong!
