My screen name is the same one I used at Adventure Rider. It comes from my willingness to try almost anything once. I am by no measure a reckless person but I am not adverse to risk, at all. My second time on a dirt bike was the Reno 300 on my 86xr600. 7 miles out of town I got in a rut, went into the ditch and went over the bars landing on my face. I didn't break any teeth but tore up all the skin my mouth. I spent the next 7 hours on the bike, drinking blood for about four until I got back to Boomtown. When my riding buddies told the story that night at the dinner banquet everyone said how tough or brave I was except for one guy who said I was too dumb not to keep riding all day. I chose the latter explanation and it stuck. I had a total shoulder replacement off a road wreck on my 06 xr650 in june of 06 so now my shoulder is to screwed up to ride anymore. I am a firm believer in wearing all the gear you can because it has saved my life once already. I belong to the Blue Ribbon Coalition because I believe public land should stay public. I am also the guy who will call out jerk-offs who are tearing up terrain trying to be cool. I want to work with whoever will have me to educate myself on what does and doesn't work in class three racing.

Come join us for the 1000 and we can show you what we do, or better yet, contact Mosses to see if they have room on their crew. They have proven again and again that they know what they're doing.

I think the 1000 is probably a little arrogant for a newbie to jump in on. I would probably be more in the way than anything else. Any one who's headed down stay safe and take pictures.

welcome.

Cant tell ya what works myself....still learning.;):rolleyes:It's more about knowing what doesn't work usually. I've stood in a pool of gear oil crying more than once in my life.

Redwood Valley is local to Sacramento just like Reno, Redding and Fresno are! Only about 3 hours away. I have done quite a bit of work in Potter Valley and know the commute well, and prefer flying myself over there. We have met some really good people over the internet that come out to the race with us, which is pretty amazing considering you are thrown into close quarters in a chase truck with strangers for upwards of a week or more.
