Team Donahoe FJ Cruiser to race in 40th Baja 1000

Corona, CA – The Team Donahoe FJ Cruiser race truck is all set for the 40th running of the infamous Score/ Tecate Baja 1000. Team Donahoe remains in 1st place in the class after the Primm 300 and is anticipating a good run all the way to Cabo San Lucas for the Toyota race truck. “We are doing our best to dethrone long time Class 3 champion Donald Moss in his big powered V8 Bronco, but with the amount of finishing points on the line for this race alone anyone of the top three in the class could take the championship. “ said Kreg Donahoe, owner of Team Donahoe.

This year’s Baja 1000 is shaping up to be the event of the year for the Off-Road Nation. Set to start in Ensenada on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, the race has a 53 hour time limit with a course that is just shy of 1,300 miles which will conclude in Cabo San Lucas, MX.

For this race, Dylan Evans, Team Donahoe’s driver of record on this vehicle, along with Chief Mechanic Damien Skutt, will take the FJ off the line. Then stepping in for the first time this season near Catavina will be Team Donahoe owner, Kreg Donahoe along with long time co-driver Bob Bower for a stint to San Ignacio. Next to take over will be long time Team Donahoe friend, Score Champion and Toyota True Grit Award Winner Brady Helm with co-driver Pete Swift. Brady and Pete will hand off the FJ to the FJ’s other driver Steve Krieger and co-driver Rob Hendrix at Insurgentes to the finish line. Team Donahoe is anticipating about 40 hours to finish the longest point to point race in North America. This race is a crucial one for Team Donahoe.

The 2007 Score series has allowed the team at Donahoe Racing to test out their Toyota FJ Cruiser Suspension on Team Donahoe’s FJ. Though there have been minor problems with the truck along the way, Donahoe Racing’s suspension hasn’t faltered once in the race for the championship in Class 3. The ability to have hands on experience by competing with the Team Donahoe FJ, along with prepping it for each event, has helped to increase Donahoe Racing’s overall knowledge of the FJ, which has translated into the products that Donahoe Racing is making for the FJ Cruiser.

The Team Donahoe/KC Hilites/Nitto Tire Toyota FJ Cruiser is also sponsored by Banks Power, Norwalk Toyota Off-Road Superstore, MasterCraft Seats, KMC Wheels, Total Chaos, Currie Enterprises, Precision Gear, Light Racing, Anaheim Hills Auto Body, ADS wiring and Kartek Off-Road.
