JD2 model 2, I think. It's a tube bender, by the way. Don't go searching for a pipe bender and plan on using it to fab motorsports or aircraft frames and components.

I've got a JMR. It's worked well in the year or so I've had it. Having a precision background, I'm not really happy with the sloppy bushings and pins, but it's built stout and can handle 2" x 1/4" wall Cromo with 300M pins. I'll probably never need to bend something that strong, but it's nice to know the machine isn't working near it's limits at any given time. It will bend up to 2.5" tube with thinner walls. That being said, I think the Pro Tools Brute from XtremeCrawlers is a much better value.

Edit: Just as a note. I've been bending 2" x .134" wall DOM and it hasn't broken a sweat.

What do you guys think of the Tube Shark?

I think it's big and cool to look at! The design looks like it would interfere with some bend combinations. It comes with a pneumatic/hydraulic actuator which is loud and slow compared to the electric/hydraulic units. It can only handle 2" OD, .125" wall DOM according to the rep. With all of that, you get an extremely high price.

Uh...Brian, it's got a cool name. Isn't that enough? LOL. :D

I have a jd^2 model 3 as well. It is about as cheap as you can go and still get good bends. I mounted mine to the floor of my shop so I could get it nice and level, which really helps get good bends.

I almost bought the JD2 model 3 but no place to mount it as of yet. I have heard nothing but good things about it though.

BUT.... you need to lookk at all the accesories that you will need with it. NOt sure if that is for the stand and bar and all that good stuff. Then the dies for each size tube you want to bend can be pricey. I think it was all around 700-800, but still a good deal.

is the harbor freight bender any good

I would'nt say its any good really.....
But you can make a few small mods to it & it will work for most bends..
but dont expect any real turns from it.

I'd have to ask my Buddy Dave because he's really good at bending tube on a Pipe bender.

I've never done it.

Do not buy the HFT pipe bender! First off it is a pipe bender not a tube bender. It will flatten the outside of the bend and wrinkle the inside.
I know this because I bought one too. It sits in the corner because it just doesn't work worth a crap. If you are only bending 15-20* then it can be used, but make a 45 or a 90 with it and it makes a mess.

Go to dezertrangers or pirate4x4 and look for used "TUBE" benders. They are sold used all the time with a collection of dies. Do not buy the Harbor Freight POS china imported "PIPE" bender.
