Hey Chris or others in the know,
Does you have the WSORR Enduro 4x4 class rules available? We are working on a new truck and want to make it legal in a few series. My main questions are:

- can I run a 79 Bronco body on a 80-96 frame & running gear (ie twin I beam)

- how far can the engine be set back?

-there is a limit on the amount of travel right?

- if I run twin I beam, I assume I can run longer radius arms, right? I am limited in track width in another series, so I would not widen it. Plus custom axles are expensive.

- is a full fiberglass body allowed?

- does the transfer case have to be a stock bronco unit? Can I run the Expedition all wheel drive unit?

- is fuel injection or propane allowed?

- maximum tire width? I know it is 33" tall.

- rear must have leaf springs right? No coilovers front or rear?

Any other points or ideas?

It's funny that you ask about the rules, because I just, and I mean yesterday, contacted Wsorr on the 08 rules. They don't have them out yet. The office said Jan., which is b.s., so I'll have to check with some class racers and get in touch with Terry Severson, who is the tech guy for the series. I can give you a pretty firm idea of the rules and will note where there may be some question.
The body / frame combo is not an issue. If fact, that is the one possible change. The Jeep that won the series this year was a Chevy Blazer frame w/a Chevy engine and driveline, axles ft. and rear with radius arm front and 4-link rear on coil springs.
Note: coil-overs are not allowed, but guys have been able to swap to coils even if the car was leaf spring from mfg. Again, the rules may be changed to have the same engine mfg. and body.
Travel is limited to 14"
Wheelbase 110" and 82" wide
You can do anything you want on the radius arms or suspension links
Fuel inj. only with stock cpu chip allowed don't know about propane
Any transfer case, must have a minimum of 12" ground clearance under the transfer case
Shocks::::::: A max of one 3" or 21/2" or any combo of smaller diameter shocks
33x12.5/15

Thanks Chris,
I am still not sure which way to go...in reality, I will probably not make out to any WSORR races with my vehicle...Crandon is a 12 hour drive. But...having said that, we plan on bringing a few sporty 2's next year. We came down to the Harris Metals 200 in Illinois this fall and it was 10 hours, so who knows.

I am stubburn...I want to go 4x4, want an old school body on it and want to be able to race a few different venues. It will be either the 79 bronco with 80+ frame, I beams etc or 67-72 F100 short box with 4x4 twin I beam, coilovers, fg body, etc...honestly, that is the way I will probably go, but I still like the idea of the bronco.

I have given myself until January to decide and plan to have it built by the 2009 season

Just a quick comment.

when your talking 4X4 it would be TTB Twin Traction Beam.

I-Beams are two wheel drive.
